2. "Jesus died for our sins." The events of Easter are perplexing to me. Jesus, being a divine being, knew the Romans would crusify him but did nothing to stop it even though he easily could have done so since he is the freakin son of God. However by allowing himself to die he gets to pull his Rise From The Grave trick. Did he let himself go through the misery of being killed just as an excuse to perform that particular miracle and hence prove without a doubt he is Christ? That still doesn't really fit the "Died for our sins." quote though. Perhaps then he was a human sacrifice to God of some kind? Maybe someone else here can clarify this for me. Regardless of the reason it seems strange and brutal for God to apparently make his son go through that.
I'm going to make an attempt to explain this right...
Jesus' destined path was to eventually die. Jesus knew this was his Father's plan for him and he accepted it.
Jesus' death was the ultimate sacrifice. It was the most incredibly powerful expression of love and caring that could have been made. He did this to pay for all the sins that people had and would commit. According to the Bible, after Jesus had done this, the gates of Heaven were opened and everyone who had previously died (i.e. Moses, Abraham, etc.) was taken from Limbo and accepted into Heaven. Do not be confused. The point of Jesus' death was not just to rise again.
And as to the question of why Jesus did not do anything to stop the Romans: I believe he couldn't have. He was human, just like any other person. Before performing miracles, he always prayed to God the Father, asking Him to bestoy a miracle on some particular person. Jesus himself did not have the power. Instead, it was God the Father that was almighty and all-powerful.
When Jesus rose from the dead, it was his divine form that walked the earth. This accounts for his ability to walk through walls and rise into the sky miraculously. Now he was actually God, not a human with Godly conciousness.
