What is wrong with the cube?
Let me start off by saying that my views on this topic had started a huge riot in my past forums. But this is how I feel.
I love Nintendo, first off. I have been a fan since their early pre-nes days with Doney Kong, etc. But you have to admit that they have made some mistakes both in the past and with the Gamecube. With the gamecube, they are probably the only console that doesn't actively support on-line games. Sure they have a couple, but nothing really spectacular. I wonder every day why they released a freaking modem if they don't plan on using it. In my view, if Nintendo could incorporate the modem in to newer games alongisde the great ones coming out, Nintendo could really turn this console around. As it is, I have reported in the past, that I had heard rumors of Gamecube's impending failure, and Nintendo going the way of Sega. Sure Nintendo has about 3 billion in the bank from world wide sales, but most of that is from the Gameboy. The gamecube is in third place!
How much profit can it really be pulling down?
To me, alot of the mistakes Nntendo HAS made with the cube are remiscent of Sega's mistakes.
Now, Nintendo has slightly alleviated some of those problems, what with a new vp of marketing, and some killer apps, Metroid Prime 2, Pikmin2, and PAPERMario.
But Nintendo has alot more to do if they hope to regain more of the market share that they once enjoyed with the snes, and the nes.
Next time, what is wrong with the original nes, and its' damn blinking grey screen, and the failed Virtual Boy.
In retrospect, I imagine that these comments caused so much friction because they were posted on a predominetly Nintendo forum. But those retards couldn't even admit that mistakes were made.....
