What are you reading now?

I recently finished From A Buick 8 by Stephen King. Next I plan to read The Traveling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon.

I just finished "Halo: First Strike" the 3rd book in the series and I totally loved it. The books really make the game come alive so much more than ppl are aware of! I personally love the Halo universe and all the characters in it. I still remeber when I finshed reading "Halo: the Fall of Reach" before the Xbox and Halo had come out and when they did it totally rocked to see them act and behave like they did in the book. Seeing Captain Keyes tap his old tobacco pipe against the glass like he did when thinking things over brought a large smile to my face because I knew these characters before even playing the game.

Finished "The Return of the Native" by Tom Hardy for English and now I'm reading for my leisure Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Good choice. I've read that a couple times.

If you like that then checkout the other one called The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul.

these are books that ive finished recently...

"a walk in the woods" by bill bryson. it was actually a really funny nonfiction recap of 2 guys that hike the appalachian trail. the author (one of the hikers) throws a lot of underlying humor in the book though that actually made me laugh out loud several times throughout the book.

"mind hunter" by stephen douglas i believe (i might be wrong about his name but that sounds right). stephen douglas writes FBI forensic novels about murder/rape/etc. investigations and also provides insight as to how the forensic process occurs as the FBI uncovers clues. his books have a very realistic atmosphere as well because stephen douglas was once a forensic scientist as well, and therefore his books are very accurately detailed and very suspenseful. if graphic depictions of crime scenes dont interest you though, i would stay away from his books. they are very graphic as he sets the mood and the suspense. they may be based on true stories, i cant remember if they were or not (i think they are though). oh and im thinking the author's name isnt stephen douglas, but i cant recall his name now and i lent the book to a friend so i cant look it up.

Well you see it went like this:

In December I knew I wanted the Dirk Gently books. So, I go to the local bookstore and get one. However, I knew there were two Dirk Gently books, but I had no idea which was the first one out of the two. So my store had the Long Dark Tea Time one so I got that. However, I learned to my horror that that was the second book. Also no other bookstores had it. So then I ordered Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency from amazon (along with Meeting People is Easy) and now I'm reading that one :)

anyway, back to book discussion. has anyone read catch 22? i was thinking about checking that out if i went to the library anytime soon....
