It's not really as simple as that per say i think the movie would have turned into a big old bleh. For example, someone could say Night Cralwer could have teleported everyone back to somewhere safe, but there are alot of things put in there just for story development.
So take for example Iceman, at the snap of a finger could freeze everyone. At the beginning of the movie he could have done so to every single person that was a threat would be eliminated, thus the end of the movie.
Just like NightCralwer's rule of not being able to teleport to places he's never been before applies into the comic or there would be alot of plot holes of what could have been done.
You also have to remember mutant or not, the x-men also have human minds you know
. Any person in those situations have to think fast about what to do and so on.For iceman just to bust out ice at an incredible rate would be kind of cheesy imo, that eliminates the whole point of Xavier's school. They really should incorporate the Danger room into the movie. Using certain powers for the character's can be like a martial art, especially for people like jean grey.
This relates to how they made Willow on buffy go evil on the show because she was getting to the point of being too powerful so they had to take some of that away. And even Star Trek how they always teleported out of situations but the writers had to come up with excuses or have the thing break to create new storylines.(even though i hate trek,

Yeah, it def. would have shortened the movie up a bit. The danger room would absolutely rock, and would have added some action to the movie. I guiess I was just disappointed that we did not get to see too much of Iceman's powers save for a few small demonstrations. Also, ive always known about Nightcrawler but I never knew MUCH about him. Is he just a simple ordinary mutant or an alien species?!? He's fr33ky.

That nightcrawler scene in the beginning has to be the best fight scene of all time.
And I agree with Snakebyte. After seeing Iceman briefly in the first movie, I thought he would really demonstarate his powers in this movie, but his story was more about his love with Rogue (who seems to get all moist when the Wolverine is around).

I can understand wanting to see Iceman go crazy with his powers, but of course the film is on a budget. Halle Berry wanted alot of money just because she won an oscar which goes into reasoning(YEAH RIGHT!!!). Just like the colossus thing.

Years later, the Texas millionaire Amos Jardine, who ran a large circus based in Florida, heard of the circus Wagner worked for and bought it. Jardine intended to move its best acts into his American circus. However, he demanded that Wagner be placed in the circus's freak show. Appalled, Wagner quit and made his way towards Winzeldorf, Germany, where Stefan was. He discovered that Stefan had gone mad and had brutally slain several children. Two nights after leaving the circus, Wagner found Stefan and fought him, hoping to stop his rampage. In the course of the struggle, Wagner unintentionally broke Stefan's neck. Wagner was discovered by the villagers, who assumed him to be a demon who was responsible for the child killings. They were about to kill him when they were all psionically paralyzed by Professor Charles Xavier, who had come to recruit Wagner into his band of clandestine mutant freedom fighters known as the X-Men. Wagenr spent several months in preparation for becoming a priest, but he was attacked by the X-men's villains, the Neo, before he complete his final studies. Wagner sought out former X-man Cecilia Reyes for his injuries, and together they eluded the Neo until they were finally rescued by the X-men, who were finally able to escape the Neo. Wagner rejoined the X-men and continues to serve with them.
On a mission to rescue the X-Men's Stacy X from the evil Church of Humanity, Wagner encountered the mysterious Supreme Pontiff, who did something to Wagner that caused a severe personality shift. Yes probably, i'm not saying they could have been subtly hinting it was her. But most of the other background people are more well known. I doubt many of the casual movie goers knew the girl who can walk through walls name is Shadowcat and so fourth.

I think toad is one of those character's who stand out and seem more original especially for a bad guy. He's not necessarilly a main badguy in the comics, but he is there alot. I think it's more the interest. I also think they didn't make him look toady enough. But it was ok.

I was concerned when I heard Toad was going into the first X-Men but I was really pleased with the new version on the big screen. The comic character just looks ridiculous.
As for ShadowCat I hope to see her other power. The side effect of her passing through objects will disrupt any electronics that she passes through.
