Going to get a TV

Okay, I'm going to get a TV with my tax return+begging from family. ;)

Estimate that I have 2500$

My living room has a window and a sliding glass door, both right next to where the TV will go. There is no option. The shades come down and do a decent job. I have room for a 43" tv comfortably, or a widescreen. I want an HDTV mostly for gaming, and in the future for movies. I'll be plugging my Computer into it through DVI (making DVI a must have) and use the TV as the computer monitor.

I'm leaning toward a tube, like the 36" sony, and I'm leery of Rear Projection Televisions because of burn in and glare-but the price is tempting.

If you were me, what would you do?

Would you be using the TV as a dedicated computer display? or an option for specific things. Because the quality of stuff isn't as good as your pc monitor. It's worse but liveable, this is why it is largerly used as a teaching tool. I know videos show up pretty well though. But over all regular computer stuff shows up pretty blurry.

I'm going to be using the PC as a PVR. The telivision will be the primary display, but it is the secondary computer. If it needs to be administered I'll use remote desktop.

PVR  I say get it if you really wanna use it for video games and such, but not all games take full advantage of HDTV technology yet.

PVR = Personal Video Recorder. I have a TV tuner in my PC and I have software that lets me record shows. I had it hooked up to my 27" sony and everything was okay, but as you say it's kinda blurry and a pain to use as a computer, so when we moved I scrapped it and just use the 17" monitor. I'm kinda hoping that with a DVI connection I'll be able to get higher resolutions (like 720p, which I think is close to 1024x768) which would limit the blur when using the computer as a...computer. If that isn't the case I'll be fine. Regardless I HDTV is a requirement, I have the XBOX hi-def pack, have for a year, in the container. I have a ton of games that are 480p or 720p (I guess most TVs convert 720p to 1080i, sadly) that I'd really like to see the benefit of.

What I'm really wondering is if I'll regret saving the money and getting a 43" projection vs spending a little more and getting a 36" tube.

Recording stuff from the tv to the pc isn't a problem, but, take for example looking at this page on your tv would appear blurrier then on your pc. Xbox games that support it will look kick ass of course, a few gcn and ps2 games support it also.
