Does the console you own live to your expectations?
In hopes to rid NGG of the Xbox fanboy label, I'll be the first to say...Xbox has not lived up to my expectations. But to be fair, the same can be said for the other 2 consoles as well.
Sure, PDO is the best game I've ever seen, but it's been over a year since Xbox's launch and only one game looks better than DOA3 imo. Why is it that launch games, and games close to the launch, still look better than games today? Look at Rallisport for example. Apex might topple it, but not by much. (Actually, running at a perfect 60fps, I still think Rallisport is king in racing graphics. Apex supposedly runs at 30)
I'm pretty sure it won't be until Halo 2, and Fable comes out that we'll be seeing what the Xbox should have been doing at this point.
Xbox's hard drive...although having custom soundtracks and unlimited saved games is more than enough, I'm still waiting for developers the make use of it. Blink did an okay job of it, but I'm talking about stuff like, new levels. New costumes are just lame.
XBL has been a disappointment up to this point. All the downloadable content is just a selling gimmick so far. I'm just glad that MotoGP was included in the demo, other wise I wouldn't have even bought it.
Other than these minor gripes, Microsoft should be proud of their console. For a first time showing, Xbox proved that it could survive against Sony and Nintendo, and positioning itself comfortably in second is a major accomplishment. When the next generation race heats up again, all 3 consoles will be on even ground, so it'll be a war
