FIRST there were two sword's one was destroyed by someone close to the god's of her religion. The Unbalance of power when one of the swords was destroyed transferred the remaining energy into the air(making Kilik even the goodest of goodie good's go on a unstoppable killing spree) a.k.a the Evil Seed.
Thus, making the Second sword even more powerfull. The will to own this friggin thing is so strong that cervantes comes back from the dead even more powerfull and doesn't even age anymore. And all he wants is to reposses this sword. And the evilness radiating about it caused this to happen.
Also have taken into account Guts brand? The very thing that curses him to be haunted by demons for all eternity? Do you even know that what Guts is doing is turning the hands of fate, something even the Godhand cannot do? Point is Guts is alot more than a man possesed by an evil sword.
And Nightmare isn't just possed by the sword, it told him it would give him something and once he got it he vowed no one would kill him because the sword would fall into someone else's hands and turn them evil, even though he still considerably is in his half way sane mind. He is a demon too, did you not notice the malformed arm, and i'm sure the armour the most powerfull sword created on to him once he was grabbed by it is just going to magically crack.
The only people capable of destroying the sword are the people sent by various god's in soul calibur.
Nightmare is a good person being possesed by an evil blade.
The blade was shattered once before, Guts could do it again for good.
Nightmare has foughten other powerful men before, Guts is fighting against gods. Guts wins this match.
The only person who can break the sword is the person who wields the soul calibur, and even if it is destroyed cervantes and inferno would take him to hell.

And i've seen Berserk and read the manga and it's fun logging IRC when you guys talk about me. The only point i'm trying to make is that Nightmare isn't average, and just because you don't see him chopping heads off in sc like you see guts in berserk doesn't mean he is a wuss.... (that was more directed at adam) :tongue: IMO
