The Seattle Times reports that an estimated half a million people now subscribe to Xbox Live. Microsoft launched the system in November in definace of different strategies at rivals Nintendo and Sony. Nintendo of America vice president Perrin Kaplan is quoted as saying that online console gaming is still an experiment - even though GameCube has the ability to go online. Sony has pushed its system online - allowing both broadband and dialup connectivity - but hasn't seen the success that Xbox Live has.

Damn right thats cool, when you think about how ps2 has sold like 3 times more systems than xbox BUT xbox's online service has sold more than ps2's thats really saying something. Xbox live is by far the best way to play console games online at the moment, it has it flaws, mainly the fact that microsoft isn't pushin the games for the service like they should be. Course maybe they were caught off guard and didnt expect so much demand for online games.
