Xbox better than gamecube (constructive reasons)

1. Hardware...a harddrive, 2 controllers (1st party), graphics card
2.software...halo, panzer dragoon orta, hell all we dont have is GTA 3
3. xbox live!!

these are my reasons. discuss them. all i really wanted was a thread in here:rolleyes: i know they are rally general,but they are also good reasons
 
I agree with you. Xbox is more user friendly and has much better quality games, hardware, and software.
 
Gamecube lacks in some genres, like racing. And from what I heard, Sega sports is not making many games for them so they won't have as many sports titles.

I'm still wondering why they went with the mini disc thingy, when DVD's were becoming mainstream. So no DVD option hurts them slightly.

Graphically though, games like StarFox, RE (yes, I know it's prerendered) Metroid Prime can all hold their own against some Xbox titles.
 
Biggest issue w/ the Gamecube: Lack of 3rd party support. The GC is suffering the DC syndrome. When the only games that sell are Nin's 1st party games you have problems. Nin needs more than it's 1st party games to succeed with gamers. "Options" is the name of the game, give us as many choices as possible. The GBA Player is a step in the right direction, but overall the GC is lacking and they're hurting over it: http://spong.com/index.asp?art=4379

My answer to number 1: Controller S for the box, and we have 3 variants of wireless controllers.

I don't like the Controller S that much; I have two of the originals and prefer them. (I have normal man hands.)

But they are great games. Halo 2 isn’t going to be a remake? Sorry but I can't imagine it being a totally different game but it will be good none the less, just like the remakes are on the GCN.

Yes it is very sweet GBA has some great titles that are tons of fun.
 
Remakes? Starfox is now a 3d action adventure. Metroid is now a fps. The story may be the same, but like akuma said, they do that with every sequal.
 
The REs are strill the same but then again changing them would be stupid..
I prefer the XBOX controller(normal) more than a GC controller I have normal hands...
GC also has a controller that does not follow up the N64... but more a Sega...
XBOX saw and took advantage of the N64s deign and modified it to appeal to more N64 users..
GC and PS2 now share the controller addicts... having similar controlers and all..
 
I really hate to see these fan boy battles
and that doesn't mean that everyone here is a fanboy
all it means is that ppl are acting lik them ;[

I actually don't see any real strong taste of "fanboyism" in this thread. Ppl are rationally arguing the pros and cons of each console and why they prefer one over the other. Nothing fanboyish about that.

Exactly, I fail to see your point CutThroat. Would you like to chime in and shoot us your two cents?


I for one am for all consoles, the more the merrier. If it wasn't for good competition amongst companies they would progress a lot slower then they do and we wouldn’t have half the titles we have today.
 
The GC controller is the right size, just a little skinny though and maybe the buttons tre bizzaro.

Thats my only beef with the GC. The size is awesome! Id love to be able to carry my Xbox around but eh?! What can ya do.
 
I just recently bought a Gamecube/playstation controller converter so that I could use a Dual Shock on the Gamecube. That damned GC button config drives me nuts!

In my eyes it matters what system you had before your current...
N64 you will tend to go with the larget XBOX controller...
Playstation you will go with the GC and PS2 controllers..
