XB Connect 3 beta released

Cool, I don't use it anymore but I'm glad to see MS dosen't mind people working on things like this. (I think they know it brings in more customers for XBL, once you get your feet wet you wan't to jump in.)
 
I tried that out once, and it works pretty well, a little bandwith hog though, and some rooms/servers wont initiate games very well but it's solid, especially if you have your pc in the same room, that way you can chat not have to run downstairs, as I did.
 
I always had a little lag in halo but still playable...I shall try this new version someday
We should all play once you know...
 
you just need the software, plug an ethernet cable to your pc and voila
halo system link! :D

I didnt use a hub/switch/router, I connected it directly to my ethernet card...:rolleyes:
 
From what? How are you going to connect a PC to an Xbox? Either you are using special switched end cables or your ethernet card hase and in and out plug for cat5 cables. Something I have yet to see. Either way you have to have something to LAN you're Xbox & PC & internet connection all together...

Ya really, your Xbox AND pc have to be on a network (lan) together to communicate, it was easy for me since we use a gateway home pna setup to split our bb connection for the xbox and pc they were already on a lan, too bad the pc is downstairs though...
 
yes, I have 2 ethernet cards

and when playing xbox live I connect directly to the modem since I'm the only one using internet in my house

and the cables I use are:
when xbconnect: the one for system link play (I think it's the switched one)
for xbox live: a cat5
