Why are so many PC gamers full of it?!

I'm not sure if this fits in the console debate or the PC gaming section but I just wanted to know why so many PC gamers are so full of it when it comes to consoles. I've met so many that act like snobbish retards, all high and mighty about their gaming rigs, and thumbing their noses down at console gaming. What the hell is up with that?
It seems that even most PC gaming mags spend half their time ripping on consoles. Do they think this makes them "mature" or better? It just comes off as pompous elitist crap from a bunch of obnoxious 30 yr olds who have nothing better to do while us "kiddies" have our fun. Some of these ppl need to Grow Up already. Games are what's important, who gives a rats ass on what console or platform their on. SHEESH! :rolleyes:

Well I don't want to be a dick, but PC games can look much better then they do on any console. Also there are alot of up sides to the PC versions of games that consoles just can't and never will offer (Becuase of money). If I make a mod to Morrowind anyone in the world can use it on the PC version... but the Xbox version is stuck just the way it is. Even if it had downloadable content -- all I would get would be there official upgrades and nothing more, on the PC version I can get whatever gets tossed out, it all depends on my choice of what I want to add or not add.


(Thats why PC gaming is better then console gaming, this coming from someone who ownes a beef PC, GCN, and XBox.)

I see your points and agree with them. But I still think console gaming is a good tie with pc stuff, they both have good features. And mods, one of the bigger pc advantages, arnt really used by alot of ppl (casual gamers). Some pc games look better than console games and some console games look better than pc games, it depends on system game etc. Both are awesome and when we get ours expect to really see me playin online!
 
Sorry but sports, fighting, and arcade type games will NEVER be better on a PC. But that's not the point. What I'm annoyed about is the BS I hear/see. Why the attitude/ hate?
If their rigs are so much better why not enjoy what they have instead of talking crap and acting like punks.

I'm not trying to go down a console vs. PC route I'm just tired of the bs.
What brought this on? This Friday & Saturday I ran the Video game & Anime Rooms at my university's RPG Con. Well suffice it to say we had a good bit of morons who had nothing better to do than to rank on one console or another, or consoles in general. I had to ask some ppl to leave the room and almost had these 2 guys kicked out of the con for their BS. I'm like WTF are you doing in a video game room with console tournaments when you don't care for console gaming? Just to talk shyt? Fricken LAME!

I see console bashing from all sides all the time, but it just seems that too many PC gamers are full of it and are more audio/visual/hardware freaks than real gamers.
 
I know how pc gamers love to diss consoles. I bet it's cuz console gamers spend under 300 bucks to get setup while pc gamers spend 2 grand for theres, yet console gamers have just as much fun performance etc. they get all protective and crap.

Why not? PC's have controllers, flight sticks, and ever other peripheral a console does. Lik-Sang just came out with a USB hook up for your Xbox controller; they already have ones for PS2 and Dreamcast and many other varieties. So there is no difference between a PC version of a game in the genres you mentioned above and the console version. Except that the PC version has more value due to game modifications and things along those lines.
 
yea only differnece is the contollers i see. and the fact pc u get to mod and do everythign else *appz ect. ect.*. but i use my xbox controller on my pc .* cut end of a usb cord, cut end of xbox controller , put usb end on xbox controller, bought another xbox extension from my friend for 4 bucks, got a pc/xbox controller for the price of 4 bucks *

For the simple fact that you won't be gaming verses your friends with these games unless you A. Lan or B. play online and neither of those replace playing right next to your friends on the same couch. Playing games on a comfy couch w/ a 56 inch screen w/ 5.1 suround sound is alot more fun to me, shit playing on a "32 inch screen w/ surround sound is still better. And each game plays right out the box without any time wasted fiddling w/ all the graphic tweaks BS you have to deal w/ PC gaming. Nothing beats putting a game in and playing right then and there.
I wanna play multiplayer on a PC I have to set up a lan, I wanna game w/ 3 other friends in DOA3 I just gotting hand them the controller. Ease of use.

..and I'm not even gonna touch all the cheating bs that happens in PC gaming. Console gaming is about your skill, PC gaming is all about how powerfull your rig is.

Also if we are gonna talk about "value" here for what it takes to get games that look as good as Xbox games on your PC your gonna have to pay 4-5 times as much as an Xbox. Shoot I can buy an Xbox w/ 21 inch Flat screen TV for less than $400.
Let alone the fact that publishers are pushing more and more PC games to release at $59.99.
 
I hear this shit all the time, there is no real point of fighting. I'm a PC gamer and a Console gamer, but I'm still insulted for being a Consoler gamer. I think the main reason why some are like that is becuase they only have a PC and want a console.

but then again others have a console and a PC and are still like that ;[
 
Well anyway this thread has become something I didn't intend. I'm not looking to make this a PC vs. Console gaming argument (though I did my fair share in pushing it that way) I'm more interested in why there seems to be such a bias and disrespect from PC gamers toward console gaming/ers?

I personaly see exactly what you meant with this thread, I get alot of that pc ppl bashin console crap. Its really retarded too, for many reasons, and with the adition of online to consoles, the pc'ers have even less they can rip on. I think they are just afraid that consoles are gonna be the big thing soon (bigger and more popular than pc gaming), over pc's, so they get all defensive.

I just wanted to point out something you've said that is obsolutely incorrect. Console gaming DOMINATES the games industry sales charts. Over 70% to be exact. If you doubt what I'm saying, purchase GKM's Gameplay industry report or pay attention to NPD's reports to see what I mean.

I think this may play a role in why so many PC gamers give consoles a dirty sneer. Because consoles dominate game sales, yet PC gamers feel PC games are much better and thus their games are underappreciated or ignored by gaming's "lame" majority.

Hmm, I didnt think console gaming dominated pc gaming at the moment, i thought it was fairly close to being even, thus my saying how pc gamers are afraid of what was, in the beginning mainly a pc gaming world, but is now moving more and more towards consoles, still both rule, but hardcore pc gamers love to rip on consoles, who knows what for, maybe we should watch a study of gang wars and just imagine the west side gang pc gamers and east siderz console gamers. :D
