What kinda car should I buy?

Soon I will have my license and will need a car. Since i'm a poor bastard (terribly poor at the moment) help me choose a car.



adam, I know you got them thar mazda vehicles on your mind you tell me about, they are cheap no doubt, but i'm just gonna say it: They are ****in ugly as hell.




My dream car would be a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or a Dodge SRT-4, but them be new cars and pricey, very.




I'm most interested currently in 2 used cars:


Mazda Miata -I'd prefer a 94' or newer year cuz I like the slightly different interior more, plus it's newer...

Toyota MR2 -Definitly a mark II model, I like the square old mark I's but the interior is fugly.


I'd prefer to spend about 7 G's max, maybe a bit more if it's a deal from heaven. Only prob with both of these vehicles are that ppl love 'em and drive the friggen wheels off 'em. Not so true with Miata's, there are some with lower miles out there, but dayum every MR2 is loaded with miles, and if they arn't you pay out the ass for it. Let's hear thoughts on these choices ppl.

I can definitly see myself in a Miata, cuz it's fruity and all. ;)

The MR2 is a monster that would probably get me in a horrible disfiguring accident, but that's half the fun of owning a MR2.

Both are rear wheel drive, SMALL, light, and fast.

The Miata is a convertible which is cool for warm weather.

I've looked at most every other car out there that would interest me and these 2 are always at the top, I like celica's, but the one's before the redesign look like every other coupe out there, and the redesigns are too much money. I'm really only interested in 4 cylinder cars, and manual transmission too. And i want it to be fairly fast. THOUGHTS!??!?!?
 
i think i'm gonna quit going to these forums if these captian planet remarks continue :no: . and how can u afford 7 g's ??
 
www.autotrader.com: search for used cars by price/make and model/year/area. handy little site here, one of the most popular on the net so there's lots of listings.

anyway, im in the 4000-4500 price range myself and am getting a car maybe in january or february. ill probably just end up getting a toyota camry, honda accord, honda civic, nissan altima, acura integra, or something similar, '94 or newer. my parents are paying half so they want me to get something reliable, with decent gas mileage, and not too many miles on it. i was able to find some pretty nice deals on those cars.

i dont know anything about MR2s or miatas :\

Oh ya, I know about autotrader.com, good site, and I check it frequently, i'll definitly use it come purchase time.
 
autotrader only goes to 1983....pppfffsshhh misses out on sooo many good cars

While i'm not sure what it actually looks like, I can imagine it looks like all those other POS "cars" with the fugly velour roof and tacky spoke wheels, and lets not forget those dumb lights on the center roof pillars, then theres the god awful interiors and the fact these things have like 18 foot of hood.
