Video Card War
Since the debut of the new 256mb Video cards from ATI and the new developrs working on the chips, it seems that they produced a more high-end experimental card called the X800 XT.
The X800 XT, is double the speed of the regular 9800 pro, and was claimed to be the #1 spot for speed and gamers...but it did leave a dent in your wallet.
Soon after the release, the team over at GeForce produced the 6800 Ultra. It also is a 256mb video card, with some qualities surpassing the X800, like if you looked at benchmarks... you might notice a couple more frames in certain games such as Unreal Tournament 2004, and Doom 3.
All in all, the two do battle releasing new models and updates for each card, you can now buy the 6800 Ultra FX, and the X800 XT Platinum Edition (my card), other models go as in order of speed. X800 / SE / Pro / XT / PE. Depending on your price range, and your dedication to updating your PC, both of these new cards are at a even point now and its all about personal preference for the gamer. Now at the peek of video card sales, and production...512 mb video cards are just around the corner and I am hoping to see and test out some of these bad boys from both sides, and post some benchmarks. If you want benchmarks from both on MY rig, I will be glad to re-do them in my spare time and post some info on it.
