I don't know how to make it look like a cartoon...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D
 
it's not pencil, it's ink...lol

Whatever, lol all I can recomend is makin the lines pure black, the rest is in the colors, lighting, shading I guess, Cant tell you any more till I get PS'in, Cant wait to run my sonic pic through that.

how did you colour your sonic pic if you don't have photoshop? paint? 'cause I though it was really cool :D

I'll do the lines pure black once I know how to do the other thing 'cause I wanna do it all at the same time, thanks for the info, mate :rock:

I used "photo impresion" im gonna be spoiled when I get PS. I scanned the lines in black, but in PS I bet you can do that in there.
Cant wait to color my MC and make him all reflective.



Keep makin more, your stuff is great.
 
To make things look more like a cartoon,. you need hard edged shadows. Use the pencil too in PS instead of the airbrush or paintbrush.

Also, thicker black lines.

I did this because my bro' challenged me to draw sumthin' in under 5 mins...I lost I did it in 7 or so hehe

I created this lil chart for a memeber of TXB a long time ago. This shows the difference between hard and soft shadowing.

another question...is there a "fast" way to make the lines black and thicker, faster?

Not really. You'll have to do that manually with one of the brush tools. You can however, darken the lines up quicky. Just go into IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > LEVELS. From there, move the sliders around until the lines are darken. (you can also use the Auto-level option, which does a pretty good job of darken/lighting the lines automatically)
