Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle of Life(Or Boobs)
Since it's becoming more and more popular to make movies based on videogames why not cash in on a sequel? And that's all this movie does.
Like the original it has very little to do with the video game and is not much like it with the exception of the main character. The whole movies formula is simply take one hot chick, add some explosions, have some very iffy franchise tie in to a playstation game which sold mostly for the character's sexy-ness. And you have a movie you should avoid seeing unless you're trying to look at angelina jolie's body.
The story this time around sends her off for another artifact that some how manages to be real and of course in the end get's way to played out from an almost realistic movie an then switching to sci-fi, which ruins the whole belief factor of the movie, it goes from james bond to crappy wanna be "star wars cross over" after the film end's.
The movie so blatantly focuses on the fact that Angelina Jolie is hot and it's pretty obvious she is, the movie play's on it like it's one of the selling points(which it is). It should have been called Angelina Jolie: The Cradle Of Boobs. The focus on the fact that she is hot and a good storyline would have maybe changed my opinion of this film because all it is, at heart, is a quickly rushed and marketed cash-in sequel.
Some characters return but are M.I.A through out the film, including the only other interesting person from the first which was the computer geek side kick who could do anything with machinery. He Makes a few appearances to somehow tie this in with the first which felt like slapping a franchise name on to something to get people to see it which they did, because they belived they were going to get a real representation of the video game character which was once popular and loved and is just over done now.
The Action Sequences are nothing more then the same old stuff you've seen before, or stuff so exagerated you wonder why there aren't space ships and killer monster roaming through the streets while they battle it out. The sound track is another awe inspiring thing too! No i'm just being sarcastic for some reason alot of movies seem to like to use Prodigy's(a Tecno music group) music in their films. I find it odd that in movies like charlies angels and tomb raider which subliminally suggest girl power, and hey i have no problem with it being reprensented in films that girls can kick ass, hell i love buffy the vampire slayer, but let's get real it's not smart to play the background music to smack my bitch up in a film like this, it's comical.
This is nothing more then a reversed james bond film that has been done with a franchise slapped on to it to get video game veterans to at least check it out.
