Things I won in drawing contests....
Almost all these were done when I was in highschool.....the drawings pretty much suck now, but it was cool for a kid from a small town to have his art shown in popular mags. Winning some neat prizes was cool too. All these were hand drawn and coloured using normal pencil cryon. I didn\'t own a pc back then.
I won the grand prize for my age group.
The contest was in \"Gamefan Magazine\" You had to draw any gameboy game and make it look like it was in gameboy colour. I won a colour gameboy, super NES, Donkey Kong Country and a one years subscription to Gamefan.
(Sorry about the quality, all the winner pics were posted in one page and it was very small. Although it might not look like it, I hand rendered this one to look as good as the CGI pics from the game )
I won the first prize in this contest...not the grand prize which would have gotten me a TV..DAMN!!
THe contest was held in \"GameFan mag\" as well. You had to take any body parts of Killer Instinct characters and mix and match them to form a super character.
I won Killer Instinct for snes and a one years subscription to gamefan.
This wasn\'t for a contest or anything. My sister had a penpal who was the owner of this \"Teen\" magazine and I thought it would be cool if I drew something for them. I did it in full colour but the mag was b/w so it doesn;t look as good. Plus, they posted the pic wrong...it\'s mirrored. That\'s why my name and stuff on the actual pic is reversed.
This pic is of the group Aqua (euro-pop music) I memoried one of their music videos and drew this silly scene.
Finally, this is the very first and biggest contest I ever won. It was held in \"Gameplayers\" Mag. The contest was simple....create a poster for Street Fighter the movie.
I couldn\'t believe that I won. It was the first time I ever won anything. The strange part is that I didn\'t even watch the movie until I actually won the contest. Capcom sent me a cool letter congradulating me.
Prizes included....the actual uniform worn by VanDammn...the actual boxing gloves worn by Balrog....complete set of autographed photos of the entire cast....including Rual Julia who played the father in the Addam\'s family movies. (He played Bison in this movie) He\'s dead now so the pic might be worth something....music cds, action figures,...baseball cap and one year subscription to the mag.
Pretty cool eh?
I also drew some envelop art for Gamepro and EGM but I didn\'t win (although I think I should have.)
