It was a nice idea for Sony to include the modem adapter in this smaller version. Even though they shouldn't have elimanted the expansion for the HDD. They know what they are doing, and I guess the hdd is not selling well enough.....

The slot for the HDD took up most of the spce in the regular PS2 so it makes sense to remove it, especially siunce they've only sold the HDD here in the U.S. for FFIX and while that's popular it's not gonna warrant keeping the huge drive bay just for one game, and as for Japan it's only a handfull of games. When you look at the logistics it just isn't that big of a deal and won't really hurt Sony at all.

Yes. I have said this on other forums, and was shat upon. But from a consumer point, the ps2 had to be the most unreliable console that I have ever owned. Before you start yelling, I am aware of the dreamcasts' shortcomings, and the constant attention that the nes needed. I mean, wI have had friends who had their Ps2 FOR a liitle after the factory warranty expire, have so much trouble with theirs. And Sony tells them if the warranty is expired, it will cost as much as buying a new one. So whatever Sony is doing to make these consumers buy another one, despite its' problems, is beyond me. I don't know from experience, since I don't have broadband, but their on-line games must be killer.. That is the only explanation I can imagine...

And I guess 3 years is good. But considering I played the hell out of it, well, I guess it is still good.

It's not the online games, it's the GTA's, Gran Turismos, Madden's and the like that get's the Sonybois foaming at the mouth. Even though you can get better versions on the Xbox they stick to their PS2's like crazy and swear they'll never go over to the "dark" side. :rolleyes:

I don't hate the X-box. My brother has one, and we have jammed all night on certain games. The only thing I dislike about the box, is the controller, it is too bulky. And even the smaller one doesn't fit as comfortably as the PS2.

and of those games you listed, I have only enjoyed, GTA. I am probably the only person in the world who disliked, "Gran Turismo."

I think Grand Turismo played like shit, but I respect what kind of graphics PD was able to pump out of that old piece of hardware.

I still don't get it. The x box version of even GTA played better, and had pc like graphics. Plus, it had the ability to rip some of your songs into the games' radio stations, which I thought was kinda neat. And now since this game will be on the box as well as the Playstation, it will be harder I am sure for gamers to chose which one to go with....

Gran Turismo, I friggin' hated. It had nice cars to chose from, yes. But, the whole thing about having get each license, or something, was a pain.

I like the ultra realism, GT3 just wasn't that much of a step up from GT2 and they didn't have enough tracks for me. But I REALLY like building my cars from the ground up and no one does it better than the GT series. Forza Motorsport looks to be a contender and since it'll be for the Xbox I'll be downloading it for sure! :rock:

I download the game and burn it off with my DVD burner. DVD's cost next to nothing these days (less than $0.25 a piece) and it would be a waste to buy a new HD just to put games on it when I can just easily burn the game.

What else do I DL game-wise? Saturn, Sega CD, Dreamcast, Playstation, and PS2 games. My entire collection of Sega CD games are burned copies because I didn't get my Sega CDX untill 2 years ago and I'm not paying out the ass for any game let alone on old game.

I don't have 309 games by just buying them, a good half of them are illegal copies. :evil:

You are a bad ass, Vic. Seriously, the Sega cd can read burned cds with no trouble-cause I have had trouble before getting burned copies to work on my GoldStar 3do.

Would it be illegal to possibly buy some of these copies from you---or would the be TOO much?

If you really want them I don't care. Dreamcasts can also play back up games without a modchip. Checkout my game library and tell me what you want and I'll quote you a fair price or you could trade me a couple of those games you don't want for 'em:

Learn to use all the weapons it has. Instead of just a couple of weapons and a light/dark side you've got a ton to use and it's a fucking hardass game. Plus it actually has a fun story. Play it up and you'll see why it's so acclaimed. Although I downloaded that shit so maybe you're just burned because you paid mucho moola for it.

Hey Vic-Thor!! do you have any hard drive(s) installed in your xbox other than the factory one; Or you only stick to burning games on dvd-r and play them that way?
And what kinda mod you have in that thing; can you play games other than xbox?

I have a copy that I bought off ebay, and a copy that my brother burned for me. And I actually didnot pay that much for it, since it was kind of incomplete.
I am about to sell the legitimate copy to this guy in New Jersey, who run www.collectorscardsandgames.com
