Videodrome(unrated version): just watch it.

Citizen X: shocking horror/drama based on the true story of the Russian serial killer responsible for over 50 deaths and the detective trying to catch him. An outstanding cast including Max Von Sydow, Donald Sutherland, and Stephen Rea.

Pet Semetary: really creepy Stephen King adaption. "Sometimes dead is better Lewis."

Apt Pupil: another good Stephen King flick basically about evil being passed from one generation to the next. Directed by Bryan Singer and starring Ian Mckellan.

The Pianist: based on the story of music composer Wladyslaw Spielman's struggle to survive the Nazi occupation of Poland. Kind of a long movie but is a splendid wartime drama.

Enemy at the Gates: WW2 film set around the conflict between Germany and Russia and personified by the snipers Koenig and Zaitsev. Starring Ed Harris as German Officer Major Koenig, Bob Hoskins as Kruschev, and Jude Law as Russian sniper Vassili Zaitsev. Great war movie with some intense sniper action.

The Mothman Prophecies: Terrific supernatural suspense movie. Very nice directing style. Combines great visuals with a powerful soundtrack finishing with Halflight by LOW. Great performances by everyone that really conveys a strong sense of dread and frustration with their predicament.

IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS: Horror author Sutter Kane's books begin to drive his readers insane. Investigator John Trent tracks down the writer and finds himself trapped in Kane's fictional town of Hobb's End. Good directing job by John Carpenter. Starring Sam Neil and Jurgen Prochnow.
