The Hulk! Thread!

Okay I managed to see an early matinee of The Hulk.

First thing is the FX since this is a main issue with a lot of people. I think the director managed to do a good job here. Now looking at it on it's own in a still frame, well sure you can tell the Hulk is CGI. However what I thoroughly enjoyed is all the destruction unleashed does a great job of selling you on the idea of this thing being very powerful and dangerous. I was hoping this is was how Ang Lee would sell you on the effect and he did it a bang up job. Fighting the Hulk-Dogs was neat but the Hulk thrashing the 4 tanks was beautiful. I was in comic book heaven watching that. I seriously hold the Tank scene next to the Agent Smith fight in Reloaded. I could watch that over and over again.

One other thing is the presentation of the film is done with unusual editing. It uses multiple frames sort of like on the show 24 but more elaborate to help convey this as a comic book universe. It is different and manages to flow fairly well without distracting you. Also on top of that another amusing cameo by Stan Lee.

Now story wise, well I enjoyed it I soppose because I'd read the comic, but I think those who saw the action packed trailers may feel annoyed and mislead. It is really a drama that eventually leads to mayhem. Again what I enjoyed is the Hulk/Banner remaining very psychological as well as powerful, but those who based expectations on the trailers may be either annoyed or pleasantly surprised.

Acting wise, considering the fantastic nature of the story, I think everyone did a great job.

Personally I enjoyed it a lot and will probably see it again. Also I am a fan of the comic and was able to enjoy the film despite some characters being changed or merged. This character has a lot of history and I understand it can't all be squeezed into one film.

I saw it i had to miss the last couple of minutes:

**SPOILER ALERT**

Videodrome would you mind telling me what happend after he fights his dad and the One Year Later scene pop's up then betty and her dad are talking i had to leave, for our ride home.
**END OF SPOILER**

I thought the film was done great not just pointless HULK SMASH everything in his freaking sight, the way the storyline revolved around his childhood and what-not. The way he looked was almost like the quality of CGI you saw in the Final Fantasy Movie(Minus the idiotic plot of course). And he almost looks alot more realistic if huge green dudes were real. :scrump:

Yea the editing of the film rocked, they did certain thing's where it would get comic line borders and changes between scenes in a almost comic like fashion, made it seem like you were watching a live-action comic. All of the fight scenes were done great making the hulk look like the hulk. And the story-line is definitely there from his father's research to other animal's being invested with simular power's like him(the dog's in the commercial).

The story itself is there, don't expect pointless explosions and retardation and what not and for the most part it is true to the comic.

Lol it seems Stan Lee so far has had an appear on role on all the marvel movies.

And the fight scene between him and his dad just damn rocked!

5 out of 5 Star's, Another great Comic 2 Film transfer!

I wanna point out, and i agree with videodrome's point's to, that in THE ORIGINAL comic, The HULK facially looks and is mentally Retarded, it's not until later does he get his same IQ and control of the powers. I hate it how people say he doesn't look angry enough(or tough enough) trust me he does, but not 24/7 as it is intended.

And people sayin he looks like a cartoon well what do you think a comic book is!

Yeah he kind of becomes a Neanderthal Powerhouse. He is mostly running on instinct. The Hulk is like that because Banner was really young when his personality fragmented the first time. If there is a second film I expect to see the 3rd personality emerge as the Grey Hulk .
