Squares new ally

I just read a report that Square and Enix annouced a merger. The two companies hold the two largest RPG titles, Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. This merger can change the rpg world and hopefully some outstanding games will be produced. The official merger will take place early 2003 when the companies fiscal years end. I belive it was around April. Well they said April 1st so who knows this might just be an early April fools joke. More on this story as I can get some confirmation.
 
Both these companies aren\'t as strong as they used to be. Sure, they still have huge franchises, but I don\'t think PS2 has the horsepower for them to create the games they have in mind.
 
I totally disagree with that. The PS2 still holds so much unused power, we can\'t even begin to imagine what it can do. People that saw MGS2 thought that was its pinnacle....they were so wrong.

Yeah I agree. Squaresoft will stay PS2, it\'s a well known fact....the only thing they\'re doing for another system is a Final Fantasy spin-off title for GameCube....other than that they\'re PS2 only.
 
Imo, I did not see anything technically superior about MGS...except the rain and water effects. I know the ps2 has untapped power, but it sure thats developers a long time to tap it. It\'s almost at the end of its life cycle, but I have not been impressed by any of its games.

I have no problem with PS2. But right off the bat, their games were no better than DC games...and it\'s took too long for them to show any potential. With both GC and Xbox, both consoles demonstrated games that set new standards. Games, that I\'m sure the PS2 will still have problem replicating.

But, if PS3 comes out and has more power than Xbox2, than I\'ll defiantly get it. There\'s no point of me buying something that is second rate.
