Something funny...
Was going through the newsgroups like I do everyday and came accross a couple funny threads. Since I can't link and they'll only be there for another day or 2, I'll just paste em.
---------------------------------------------------------
What's happening to the group? - Can't any of the newbies read? (as in the FAQ)
---------------------------------------------------------
You mean newbies used to be able to read? Damn, you're waay older than me, apparently... ;p
---------------------------------------------------------
When I was a newbie we read the FAQ three times before breakfast, in the dark, before we went to thaw the cows.
Face it: people are stupider than they used to be, either that or somebody is dressing up cabbages and passing them off as human beings again.
---------------------------------------------------------
You mean at some point they stopped dressing up cabbages as people? Damn it why didn't I get the memo?!
---------------------------------------------------------
Amen to that! When I was a lad we walked 10km in deep snow to read the
FAQ.
---------------------------------------------------------
For me it was 10 miles, but it was up hill...both ways <g>.
---------------------------------------------------------
Of course <we> had it tough... We used to have to get up at three in the morning, clean the faq in the dark, eat a handful of hot gravel for breakfast, then recite the faq for 26 hours a day until our heads would spin, and then our dad would beat us about the head and neck with a broken bottle!
If we were lucky!
---------------------------------------------------------
Luxury!
We used to get up half an hour before we went to bed, go and scour the web for 26 hours a day for t'FAQ (and pay FAQ maintainer for t'privilege), come home to our 'ouse (well, I say it were 'ouse, it were actually a yoghurt pot at bottom of lake), eat a handful of COLD gravel for us tea, then our dad 'd kill us and dance about on us grave singing 'allelujah chorus.
Tell that to kids of today and they won't believe you...
