SkyFinch's art thread.

Neat! I liked the Knight's picture a lot.

Oh and by the way, what's up with all of those red "x"s? I guess you remove the links or something? :(

No, I moved to a new host. I got all my artwork uploaded but they're in different folders now.

I thought you already got career job?

I understand that finding a job that has to do with graphic art/drawing is a pain in the neck (after trying to find jobs for about 5 months, I gave up.) amd I was thinking about going back to college to learn about animation 2D or 3D and 3D model.

Oh yeah, why don't you make mini-comic books and you can show it to any companies, such as Topcow, Marvel, DC, etc.., and they might hire you. I mean, you're good at drawing and creative, so you should be able to try to make comic book and all that. I've done research on a lot of websites and I've noticed that a lot of them are looking for artists that can make comic books and willing to work for them. To be honest with you, I was thinking about trying that. Maybe my drawing skills won't take me anywhere but I will try it anyway. Nothing else will stop me, though.

And as for writing, that's really cool that you likes to write. Wish I could write, lol. English is my weakest point and I doubt if I can become a writer anytime soon.

here are some test renders of the car I'm currently making in Maya.

These are only test for me to see how everything is coming along. They are no where near completed. (there is a massive seam in the center of the car that I need to get rid of.) All the lights, shaders etc are placeholders.

(btw, this is the first time I'm modeling using polygons so this project is basically trail and error.)

well, I've been working on it on and off, but I'm guessing 3 hours so far. There aer no image planes on the net that I can find, so I'm just eye-balling it, so I doubt that it will end up looking as intended. (The damn back is completely off.) I had to redo the front bumper because all the geometry wasn't lining up.

(nurbs are a whole lot faster for modeling, but simple mistakes can make it a nightmare to fix up later on. Polygons on the other hand are a bit more simple to work with.)

Sky the Supra is looking good. Really good infact. I know its just the render, but the shape so far is good. And if the back bothers you, let me know and I can find something else for you, I mean you could have like a supra front with like a ferrari modena tail lights. Look kinda whicked. But hey remember Apex sky? The mercedes have BMW lights, so its not really uncommon.

Also for jobs I'm young to look for a career but I heard the site below may help, not saying it will because of course I haven't used it, but had to make a career thing when were older in tech skills, so maybe it will work for you guys too:

Give it a try!

Just need to add the lights/ covers, wheels (although I don't know what kind I want at the moment) windows, and maybe the interior.

Not bad for a Maya rookie.

Even better Sky. If you are a beginner, you would stump many man. It just keeps looking better and better. Nice work ONCE AGAIN!

I've been slacking off a bit with this project, (got other things I want to get done)

There are still a ton of things to do, like adding the signal lights, interior, windshield wipers...

Finch, seriously dude, youre like, wicked awesome. Cool.

man i'm beat. gonna hit the showers. Later.

How's this look? I can't seem to get the hang of texturing polygons, but I'll get there.
(The car still isn't 100% finished, but I've moved on to making a Celica. Figured everyone makes super cars, so might as well try a common, affordable car)
