Sequels

I have already touched on this subject before, I think. I would love to see a sequel to several nostalgic and current games, but mostly oldies.

here is my list of games that I would like to see sequels to:
Eternal Darkness (gamecube)
Chrono Trigger (snes)
EarthBound (snes) remember this game? it was a funky rpg vy Nintendo
Pilot Wings (snes)

I would also love to see another Radiant Silvergun sequel. As you may know, this was a Japan only saturn game, that had a lukewarm received sequel, "Ikaruga" for dreamcast.

And how about a NEW street Fighter game?
Geez, how long has it been since we have seen that franchise???

Re: Sequels

Bionic Commando was for the nes, right?

I would also enjoy a new BurgerTime. Maybe one in 3d this time???
Just make sure it doesn't blow like the Frogger sequels that Hasbro produced for PC!!

Re: Sequels

I have noticed that very few sequels, with the execption of Mario and Zelda games, have been substantial better than the original. Maybe it is just me....

I also think it might be time for another Mario game, although I hear that PAPER MARIO for the cube is going to rulz

Yeah I can't wait for Paper Mario, but it's more of an RPG then the normal Mario platformer. I still don't have Mario Sunshine but will be getting it soon since it is now on the greatist hits list. But for $30 and not $20 like the rest of them.

Forgetting Chrono Cross for the Playstation? And Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike came out in 2000 for the DC.

Re: Sequels

Damn, I forgot about Chrono Cross. That was for the Ps, and was a double cd with some Final Fantasy game. My brother still has it.

I just meant a updated Chrono game for the newest consoles.
I don't recall, was Chrono Cross in 3d?
Cause I bet Chrono would be killer in 3d.

Re: Sequels

Sega could have went down fighting with these sequels...

Nights into Dreams 2 (Been waiting too long for this one)
Streets of Rage 4
Daytona 3 (dumbasses. The best selling arcade game ever, and they leave it stranded)
Sega Rally 3
A true sequel to Sonic, and not that team crap, and that fat cat bastard.
Fighting Vipers 3 (I love this series and too bad it died)
A new Ecco the Dolphin game

And the ones that should be in the works, not only from Sega...
Virtua Fighter 5 (this is going to be BIG)
Shenmue 3, and make it the final chapter
Test Drive LeMans 2
Splinter Cell (they can make one per year, and I'd still buy them)
PGR3 (On Xbox 2 please)
Soul Calibre 3 (from the ground up, with some actual improvements)
A real Ridge Racer sequel

and finally............

STREET FIGHTER 4. Merge Alpha and street fighter 3 together. If capcom was in a funk, this is the game to pull them out. It's long over due.

Re: Sequels

I believe there was a Japan only sequel to Nights entitled, "Christmas Nights."
Seriously, although I don't know if it was actually a sequel. It might have been a promotional type game,or something.

I agree with your list, mostly.
I disliked the Ecco games since the Genesis. And never got into the Sonic games past Sonic 3.

Re: Sequels

Christmas Nights was a demo released in the U.S. & Japan and all it was was Nights with a "christmassy" theme. Since it was released as part of a magazine it was in short supply and is considered a rare "game" that sells for mucho moola on ebay.

Re: Sequels

I got my version of Christmas Nights in NextGeneration magazine. What was impressive is that they even cleaned up the graphics and frame rate. It moved a lot smoother than the full version.

Re: Sequels

That was the mag. I've got Christmas Nights but haven't spent much time on it sicne I DLed and burn it off.

Re: Sequels

I doubt that Christmas Nights is that rare. I have seen it for cheap on a couple sites, and locally in Maryland....

And VicMan, do you know if burned cd games will work on a Saturn without any mods???

Re: Sequels

Nope you need a modchip, unless you wanna try doing swap tricks that just screw up your cd lasers motor over time.

The only cd based system that didn't have protection was the Sega CD & Dreamcast from my experience.

Are you talking regional lock out>?
Because I know that the 3do could play games from all regions, as did the Turbo Duo. And I believe that the gameboy sp, and the neo geo pocket had no regional lock out.....

Re: Sequels

I'm talking about copyright protection, as in the ability of the system to stop you from playing back ups. The only consoles I know that didn't have copyright protection were the Sega CD & Dreamcast. Which is nice because I can just download the games and play them w/o the need to install a modchip.
