S.O.B! - New DVD burners double capacity

Re: S.O.B! - New DVD burners double capacity

Serious..thats cool...and with the TV..I have been looking at all of them..and I hate the destortion thtat comes with big screens..you know..when you look at the TV from the side view. I hate that!! Plasma doesn't have any..and the on I'm looking at has little to no pixelation.

It doesn't distort it just darkens and that makes sense since you're dealing with a projection TV. My TV is pretty good about that and you have to be at really extreme angles to get that.

It normally retails for $1,500 but I got it brand new for $900 from Bestbuy. It's not a true HDTV but it's damn close and it rocks hard. I probably won't need a subwoofer when I get a Dolby digital 5.1 sound system because the TV's subwoofer is awesome. I normally wouldn't be able to afford a big screen TV, let alone one over $1000. Everyone thought me nuts when I started thinking about getting one seeing as how I actually don't work for shit. But I figured out my finances and found out I could just barely afford it if I held off on all the extravagant game purchasing (which was nearing $500-800 a year) and managed my money better in general. Because of that I now have the TV I always wanted and the way to get games, movies, etc. w/o spending a fortune (DVD burner). I've only boughten 4 games since last summer and yet I'm nearing 300 games in my library. :D

What about the Region, (you know like 1, 2, 3, 4... for the different parts of the world)? does the dvd u burn keeps the same as the original dvd? can u set it? will the xbox read the dvd!?!? the xbox is not my primary dvd player but I'm just curious :P
oh yeah, what are specs of ur machine nastyman, so i know how long would it take to rip on mine?
aaaannnddd...which files do i need to download from the site you posted? all of them? (the ones under dvdshrink obviously)
thanks a lot :)

It makes the DVD Region Free.

I never had a problem playing the backups in my Apex DVD Player, but I did have a slight problem with it playing in my wifes parents player, but to fix that I just burnt it with Nero. Nero burns it some kinda way that makes it VERY compatible with 99% of the players out there and as Vicman said... your Xbox will play it fine.

Re: S.O.B! - New DVD burners double capacity

DVDShirk is NOT the DVD ripper for me. It took 6 hours to make a copy. That's twice as long as it takes using DVD Decrypter inconjuction with DVD2One.
I really liked all the options of DVDShrink and the end result was nice but it's not enough of an improvement, if any, over the quality compression I already get. Probably wouldn't take as long on a better comp.

Whats your comp stats? I got used to waiting when I had an older machine... I used to encode to VCD with TMPGEnc on my 333Mhz Cyrix, it would take about 18 hours to encode 120 minutes of video lol. :( So on my new comp, 2 hours to back-up the DVD is nothin.

Re: S.O.B! - New DVD burners double capacity

450MHZ AMD K6-2 w/ 256 MB of memory. The way I currently rip a DVD takes 1 hour to decrypt & rip to my HDD, 1&1/2 hours to compress with DVD2One, & 40 minutes to burn using Nero. so roughly 3 hours.
