Radiant silvergun for sega saturn....

I have just bought this game off ebay for a little under the normal price. Prior to that, I enjoyed it on rom....

anyway, I have always loved this game. It is truely amazing what Treasure was able to extract form the Saturn, when no one else could do half what they accomplished... I am guessing part of the graphic marvel in this game is a result of the ST-V arcade board that sega had developed in an attempt to recreate the arcade experience. The st-v board, code named Titan, has the same basic spec of a saturn but it takes games on plug in rom carts for increased speed in the arcades, its primary purpose.

I feel that had this title been released earlier in the Saturn's life span, it would have catapulted the console ahead of the competitors. And whay weren't more games made that utilized this Titan board. I believe they also used it for the Golden axe: the duel game. Many gamers proclaim this to be the greatest overhead shooter in the history of consoles. I enjoy it , but would not go that far.

Others think it was overhyped, and on its own, not that great of a game....
I love it, and am still struggling with completing it. And I think that the rom was much better than the original. I was using a saturn controller with the rom, so it felt right...

Note: Titan info came from August 1995 issue of "Next Generation" magazine. In the article, "Sega Saturn: You've watched the tv commercial....Now read the facts."
