For some reason you don't think I used the artwork you did???? WTF??? I used it in the brochure, and I'll probably use it on the webpage we're making.
*punches you in the crotch as well*
First and foremost, I created the art on time, without any complaints, and I even took the time to edit one of the images to fit your needs. I was supposed to draw one more image, but since I did not get any e-mails concluding this request, my guess is that you don’t need the drawing, or my art wasn’t good enough. By the way, I friggin hate guessing games.
Now, to the point.
I have a little thing called a portfolio. This is my pride, and accomplishments, something I worked my entire lifetime to achieve. It’s not much, but it’s all I got. When I create art for someone, I hope that in return, they use the art. For me to know this has happened, the client usually sends me the final product. I shouldn’t have to ask. For me to use the art as part of my resume, (which is pretty much non existent, because no one actually uses the art I create for them. For those who do, thanks.) and not have any proof that it's been use, is pretty much worthless, and a waste of my time. Nothing makes me happier then when someone asks for art. It just means that they like what I’m doing, and respects the things I’m good at. But when someone disappears, and for me not to know the art has been used, angers me. (And trust me when I say this, it takes a lot to anger me.) If the art was in fact, not used, I can live with that, as long as I get a simple explanation. Even if it’s a simple, “I like the art, but it’s not what I’m looking for” or “I found another artist.”
Lady D, (jesus, I hate using fake, internet names when I’m trying to be serious) if you did use the art, was it so hard to send me a sample with the art in there? Or even e-mailing, saying the brochure is done, but there is no way I can send you a copy? A link to a site? Hell, I don’t even care if it’s a rough copy. Or was it easier not to hear from you again? I didn’t even get an e-mailing saying the brochure was actually completed, so again, it was a guessing game, and I waited patiently.
I mean, give me a break people. 90% of the art on my web page was done for others, free of charge. I’ve done more art in the past year, then I’ve done in my entire lifetime, and no one’s exaggerating – no complaints, on time, 100% of my abilities. Some people use the art, some don’t. The ones, who don’t and simply disappear, will never hear from me ever again. I never whine about the subject matter, or request that they simplify their ideas, to make my job easier. Please, go out and find an artist who charges money for this kind of stuff, and see how much they ask for. They’ll end up charging you so much for such simple art, that you’ll end up using plain text. Trust me, I know. You’ll be grateful that there are still people like me around, people who care more about the art then the money.
All this, and for what? You can punch me in the nuts or whatever, but all I asked for was a simple e-mail stating that the brochure is done, and the art was used.
Vo.
