Yea i saw bruiser that's a freaky movie.
Anyway here is my review of LXG:
This is not X-men if people criticize it for not being it, it was never intended to be a wanna be version of the X-men. For those of you new to the world of comics, this is based off of a comic. One of the main differences is that Tom Sawyer is not in it and was added into the film to put in some american flavor and another familiar face.
The geneal plot of the film is that a secret villain known as The Phantom is doing conspiracies to try and cause a world war between all the nations, and no one wants that so the british empire decides it needs to recruit some super-powered people and create a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Literally.
The characters:
Alan Quartermain, a popular hunter from british literature.
Dr.Jekyll/Mr.Hyde which should be obvious
Mina Harker, from Dracula who survives after killing Drac and retains her powers
Dorian Grey, who used occult like magick to make a painting that ages instead of him, thus making him Immortal, kind of like highlander.
Captain Nemo, an Indian man known for his extremely high-tech weaponry and vehicles that he used as a pirate and is intelligent. He has some fighting skills too.
The Invisible Man, the old one from the old movies not the Sci-Fi Channel One.
Tom Sawyer, from the old US novels, is now older and a secret Agent for the USA.

The plot has a huge twist halfway through and the movie takes place in the 1800's. The main thing is this is not what people think it's not like a version of the X-men with heroes from an older time. This movie is more of an introductory to those people and the comic itself and revolves around the plot that brings them together and a conspiracy. The movie plays out like an old detective novel with some super hero action.
The settings and what not are done well for the time period it is supposed to be set in. The movie isn't the most engaging think you will ever watch but it brings you in because of the interested between the character development and the relationships of trust between these characters since about 6 of them aren't exactly from a goodie-two-shoes past.
3/5 Star's, If you like the comic go see it, don't expect continuity. If you like stuff simular to old novels this movie is great, and leaves the story open, but isn't an engaging pure action flick like the x-men or other comic 2 film transfers.
