Original Equipment Manufacurer, or whatever it stands for, what does it actually mean? Alot of the parts I am ordering online say OEM next to them and some Retail. Does OEM mean it is just like in a cardboard box, like right out of the processing line? What's the actual difference?

Here is an example, taken from newegg.com and a part I am ordering:
CDRW Drive: $41
Lite On LTR-52327S Black 52x32x52 CD-RW Drive, 2MB, OEM
Model# LTR-52327S

just think of it this way , it's illegal to resell oem's and u dont' get any warrenties for them.

I just heard that they don't come with any of the software! Ouch and shit, I don't want that... Now I have to get most of my stuff at my local store for a little higher price and downgrade a bit on each item..... ****

edit: Between newegg.com and zipzoomfly.com I have found all the parts I want in the Retail version :) so this is good news. Just had to search around back and forth looking at the descriptions.
