The DS is said to be somewhere in graphical power between a N64 and Gamecube. It looks like to be Dreamcast like graphics in some respects. Same with the PSP.
BTW thw botton screen of the 2 screens on the DS is said to be touch sensitive, like in the Metroid Prime Hunters you don't use the buttons but hit things with your finger to activate stuff like your gun and shit. Very weird.

I retract the statement made earlier. The DS looks to be more like a portable N64 in terms of graphics than a Dreamcast. That definitely turns me off. The PSP's graphics so far look a TON better!

Its all about the games dude...who am I kidding, the PSP ownz!! lol, but still the DS may have potential if developers use both screens properly, like the pac man game in which u have to draw pacman and stuff like that

Seriously, how many companies will use the touch screen? I bet less than 10%. It's mainly going to be Nintendo 1st party and a handfull of 3rd parties. It's too gimmicky to be truly innovative IMO. I expect the DS to be a stop gap until the next GBA comes out in 2006-7.

The PSP looks way better than this. The double screen gimmick is probably not going to be used properly and will more than likely just show a map or other useless info for most games. Probaly only 1 or 2 games will use the second screen as a stylus. I think I'll just stick to my GBA:SP for the time being.

I couldn't agree with you more. i will use my gba until the psp comes out, then i will buy one of those. the touch screen is corny i mean what's the purpose it will not be used because what can it possibly be used for, its a dumb idea and nintendo will again be dominated in the video game marketALAKA said:

How the fuck can Nintendo beat a handheld PS2? It can't! So this is just a gimmick to steal some of the PSP's thunder while Nintendo scrambles for something to hold on to their handheld dynasty. But just like in the console bidness you're going down for the count Nintenboys!

I said the same thing, but I changed my mind lately. Zelda and Mario are both still great games and well worth the money, I can't remember the last game on any next gen system or the PC that I have put as much time into as I have with Wind Waker. So as long as they keep making the games good, rehash the hell out of them... I don't care.

I'm sorry but I disagree. Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine were too fucking childish and tired for my tastes, even my ex-Nintendo loving GF didn't like those games much and is exhausted with Nintendo. Same old shit different packaging, outside of Metroid Prime, which had horrible controls BTW, there hasn't been another Nintendo 1st party game I've liked at all. My GC just collects mad dust!
