I think I just closed a deal from a private seller in nevada on a M48A Mauser carbine.



Yes I said mauser, as in what the Germans were shooting at our soldiers in WWII, hopefully I can have it transfered here in the next few days and go pick it up and act all cool and mighty cuz I have a real Mauser rifle, not only that but in unissued condition, as in never fired, and the seller is gonna include accessories, original issue ammo pouch, cleaning kit and sling, now all I have to do is find a bayonet for it and I can cosplay! :rock:

Well you say your's is a carbine so it might be different, but I do have an old bolt action Mauser rifle that takes 8mm. It has a really heavy recoil on it.

Hey, cool, I thought you might be joking, like someone else does on these forums...


Well the one i'm getting is a carbine technically, there are many variations out there, there is the K98 german made Mauser, which is the actual one they used, then there are the KAR98 mauser's that were the germans sniper rifle for the war and then there are many mausers made in other country's, but all are basically alike. The one I'm gettting is technically called a Yugoslavian M48A carbine.

It was made in Yugoslavia after the war for the Yugo army, but as soon as they rolled out of the factory they were obsolete thanks to the major introduction of semi auto rifles, so they were all packed up and stored, till now, and one is coming my way, 8 millimeter too! This baby should kick like a horse, it's lighter weight slightly smaller carbine firing the same round, probably knock me over....
 
Oh trust me it definitely has a strong kick to it.

I don't recall what model number mine is but it is stamped as being made in Turkey so it has weird arabic symbols on it.

There are persian mausers, TURKISH mausers, they all made them in that area, does it look similar to this one?

Those are a older version I believe, some have a turned down bolt handle, these are straight.

It has the same basic look as those pics. It has the bolt action with the bent down handle.
