My Terminator 3 speculation

I need to watch Terminator 1 again. Sure the leftover technology fell into Cyberdyne's hands, but how and why them? Did another party(NSA, Military?) arrange for Cyberdyne to study it?

Wild speculation:

Okay so far the Machines started with Sarah and failed, then went for John and failed. What if they sent one even earlier that took place before the events we saw in Terminator 1? Perhaps it was an earlier model than the T-800 that was beaten and grabbed up by the government. I can imagine what would happen if a Connor had been a soldier in a previous war like WW2 resulting a Terminator getting caught up in battle and eliminated. They'd probably assume it was a Russian or Nazi weapon. Later they find similiar technology crushed under a hydrolic press and contract Cyberdyne to study it. In T2 those parts are grabbed and destroyed but maybe there is another one somewhere in storage?(probably in a crate next to the Ark of the Covenant :p )

Part of why I think this is the battle scenes we see in cemeteries during the trailer.

I don't know for sure, but I have BIG hopes for this movie, the trailer kicks ass! Plus there are so many possiblities for continuing the story. I think that it will take off several years after T2 in 1997, the connors have returned to their normal lives thinking they stopped the machines and the holocaust and all. But SOMETHING happens that puts it all back into motion for what is would have happened on that day that same year when the machines take over. Maybe some data they missed that was stolen and developed from cyberdyne when they raided it years ago? Or another company that....etc. Well, anyways it all happens over, a new terminator sent back to stop the connors, and one to protect sent by john again, but this time they have a "deadline" when it all happens (missiles launch to into russia etc.), I dont know but I bet it's gonna be sweet. I have thought this all over for a while and have many theories, I can't explain them for crap though...

It's weird though because I think T2 was intended to be the last one so no one intentionally did any setup for a sequel.
