my new (used) car

here's the car's description on autotrader where i found it. i ended up buying it for 4100$ and i like it a lot. no it's not some fancy shit sports car that id like to get, but it's clean and well maintained. 28 miles per gallon too, so that's a plus. i love it for the fact that i dont have to bum rides everywhere now. yes, if i had my first car handed to me on a silver platter by my parents i could have gotten something cooler. but i worked my ass off for this one so i appreciate it a lot more than most people i guess. here's a couple pics from my link for the people that didnt click it.

Nice. I still have fond memories of my first car before I destroyed it on the freeway.
 
My first car was an '87 Chevy Camaro which I promptly totalled two days after buying it. I nearly killed myself and my sister going out to eat some tacos, lol.

It was a hot day when it had just started to rain and this created a layer of steam on the ground that made it very slick to drive. Well I accelerated turning left out of a 4 way stop light and the car hydroplaned into the oncoming lane. Normally you should let the car drift to a stop but I had no time since I was about to crash into oncoming traffic so I swerved the wheel the opposite direction and the Camaro spun out of control and slammed drivers-side door first into a giant palm tree. To make a long story short my sis received a bad concussion and I received a left ribside and chest contusion that took about 2-3 months to recover from and that to this day can still bother me if I turn too much to my left side.
I could've died because the car slammed so hard into the tree that it crushed my car all the way to the middle of the drivers seat. Think of a giant curve-like shape crushing the entire drivers side area from the floor of the car to the roof and taking up from the beginning of the door near the hood to the back wheel, warping the shape of the car in the direction of the force of impact. Like a bananna on it's side with a huge bite taken out of it's middle!

I was caught in the middle of a Squall. Some freak blizzard thing came from Lake Michigan and hit the Southfield freeway turning everything white so I couldn't see shit. I started to slow down but it was to late and wound up in a small freeway pile up. I bounced off a car and then slammed into the concrete divider.
 
bummer. earlier today when i was getting in my car to go to a friend's, i noticed some dumbfuck had rubbed up against my left front end when pulling out while i was parked at school. it's not bad damage or anything just some scraping. it doesnt really bother me except for the fact that a lot of the people at my school drive like careless idiots. oh well. :angry:

edit: if the way i described it sounds like some serious accident it's really not. just some abrasions on the side beneath the lights. it still serves its purpose of getting me around, which is fine by me. i just wish people would drive more carefully...

That's a sad thing that ppl are dumbass's about driving.


I mean, yesterday I was waiting in the car at a strip mall and for about a half hour I just watched ppl drving by and pulling in, and from my determination while watching those ppl, probably half of them are dumb ass's when it comes to drving efficiently and safely.

Things I noticed most commonly were not buckling seat belts, no turn signals, hauling ass infront of the stores where pedestrians could pop right out, and alot of crap with actually parking, a guy pulled in infront of our van and he cut it so late I thought he was gonna mash the door of the car next to him.


I get my real license next month, and already I can say i'm probably a better driver than a ton of ppl out there, I drive like a old lady, I have just recently got to the point my parents dont tell me to accelerate FASTER when pulling out onto a road. The only thing I can honestly say I need to work on is turn signals, 99% of the time i'm fine, but on occasion I don't remeber to turn on my signal till i'm at the intersection stopped, instead of while i'm still rolling up to it. I was supposed to go to driving school since if your under 18 it's required, my mom assured me I would, but its 16 days till license time and no drving school has happened, and will not happen this late in the game. Thanx to the rules, if a person gets there temp, then turns 18 during the six months required the drving school is not needed. So if anything that just screwed me over. Course I can still probably take it with my own money and time after I have a car and get the insurance discount right?

Course the wrost part of this all is I get my license in a bit over 2 weeks, and haven't been able to get a job yet, so I can't afford a car. And my mom is being a ass and saying I have to pay for everything myself, so once I get my license I can't even drive period, with a adult even, cuz no insurance. Buncha friggen stupid crap too!

Thats how I drive, I hardly ever put on my freakin turn signals and never wear a seat belt.

Ofcourse you drive like an old lady your driving balls havent dropped and when they do that will all change, you will be the dick not using signals and hualing ass around. Trust me, once you get used to it you will become defensive and not offensive when on teh road... if not you will be ran off the road by people like me.
 
Dude if you are gonna go around driving like an old lady, well guess what? That's moronic driving too you idiot?! Crashes aren't only from ppl who drive fast! Alot of accidents occur because idiots are so overtly cautious that they are too slow to react and cause accidents. It's not about how many rules you observe but following the mantra "READ AND REACT ACCORDINGLY"

It seems most ppl don't have the mental capacity to read the situation and react quickly enough to avoid accidents or keep the flow of traffic moving so they fuck everything up with their scaredy bitchass driving. I don't know how often I find myself wanting to beat the living shit outta someone for driving like a slow moronic dumbass!
Guess what just because the interstate says 65 doesn't mean you should go that speed when everyone else is going 75-80 MPH! Not driving with the flow of traffic can cause alot of accidents as well!

That's another thing! Every damn person breaks the friggen speed limit on highways, my god wth is up with that? I mean hell it says 65 and I go 65 but get passed by every damn person out there cuz there going 75. Dumbass's


I'm not gonna go faster than the speed limit ever, I don't need a friggen ticket even if I was just trying to keep up with everyone else.

You won't get a ticket if your going with the flow of traffic, if everyone around you is doing 75 you do 75 there not going to pull you over. The person that gets the ticket is the loner going 85-90 and swirving in and out of you and the others doing 75.
 
i do at least 120 on the highway :rock:

edit: i also race on th ehighway i got some video of it *not included in the other drag raceing video i did* , raced some guy with a turbo and got da owned kicked outta me, to bad u can't hear the turbo in the video it was pretty loud :scrump: . also got a video of me burying the needle and going at least 145 i would say

ice trust me once you start driving on your own and get the feel of your car you will start to loosen up a lot more. im not saying you'll break the speed limit by 20 mph everywhere like some people but you will find yourself going at least a little over. it is possible to go a bit over the limit and still not drive like a reckless maniac.
