Here's a fairly big list of most of the stuff I listen to, all rules:

After Forever
Within Temptation
Nightwish
Inkubus Sukkubus
Lullacry
Theatre of Tragedy
The Gathering
Lacuna Coil
Kylie Minogue
Disturbed
Cradle of Filth
Metallica (old)
Shadows Fall
Meshuggah
Killswitch Engage
Rob Zombie
White Zombie
Nirvana
Shedaisy
Dixie Chicks
Beastie Boys
Symphony X
Dream Theatre
Powerman 5000
Korn
Iced Earth
Smashing Pumpkins
Rage Against the Machine
Alice in Chains

I like alot of various types of music, everything from country (Dixie chicks) to freaky black metal (Cradle of Filth)

But my fave music of all things music is "symphonic metal"

These bands below are some prime examples of what I like:

After Forever
Within Temptation
Nightwish
Inkubus Sukkubus
Lullacry
Theatre of Tragedy
The Gathering
Lacuna Coil

All have female singers which is probably the biggest thing I like about them, makes it extremely nice compared to male fronted bands. (in most cases) Most of the music is still just as aggressive, but usually has more melody and song form when compared to alot of other metal which sometimes sounds like just noise. Some of these bands do have some male singing in them in addition to the main singer, Nightwish has some, and Lacuna Coil has alot for instance, and After Forever has some guy growling, I usually hate growling but in this cae it's ok, it helps to break up the singing a bit.

I reccomend all bands in this post HIGHLY, I listen to other stuff, but this is what I like most at the moment, above all things I reccomend the shorter list of female fronted bands just above, that's what I listen to most, and is by far my fave stuff.

Okay I have a recommendation request.

The music style that really appeals to me lately is music that combines modern instruments with classical ones. I guess it's called Neo Classical. A prime example would be Rob Dougan's Clubbed to Death from the first Matrix soundtrack or his other songs from Furious Angels. Or groups like like Hooverphonic, Apocalyptica, Bjork, and Vanessa Mae.

Basically I just really dig the sound of prominent acoustic string sections lately.
