Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Midway Games announced that Mortal Kombat®: Deception™ has gone gold and will to ship to stores for both the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft on Monday, October 4th.

Mortal Kombat: Deception delivers the deepest fighting experience ever, with the fatality-filled intensity that has helped establish the Mortal Kombat franchise as the ultimate fighter of all-time over the past 10 years! With unlimited competition online, multiple fatalities per character, multi-tiered interactive environments and extensive new game modes (a la, "Puzzle Kombat", "Chess Kombat", "Konquest" and more), Mortal Kombat: Deception is well on the way to revolutionizing the fighting game genre once again.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

I disliked the last one on the Xbox. The game has become too complicated for me. Actually, the moment they added the run button to MK 3, I started to dislike the series. And the game's fatalities have become comedy. I remember seeing SubZero's spine ripping one in MK1, and that was disturbing.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Is this out already, or are you talking about Deadly Alliance.
I agree with you about the fatalities, they sure have gotten worse since the franchise started in the arcades.
Back in MK2, they were my favs. They were much more gorier and violent then the last one.
And what happened to the stage fatalities.....

I have heard that the new Mk wil not be on the gamecube, that blows, doesn't it?

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

YEAH, the on-line part of the new MK, will be fun.
I might buy it as well. If I can get my playstation 2 working, that is.
I want tp see more violent fatalities, and more characters...
Anyway, have there been any reports as to which characters will be returning from previous MKS?
I would love to see Sub Zero again. And I would also enjoy having some of the characters that we never saw again in MK3, to return.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

MK has and always will be crap IMO. It couldn't compete with the king of 2-D fighters and now it's just another run of the mill 3-D fighter that can't even lick crappy Tekken's ball sweat.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Tekken was nice for ps2, but I would much rather play MK. I agree that they are practically the same, but the only reason I play MK, is for the fatalities. Nothing else. And because Scorpion and sub zero kick arse...

Isn't there another Tekken coming out soon????

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Who knows, I used Tekken because Tekken sucks compared to even DOA let alone the godly VF4 or SC2.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

All of the fighters nowadays lack any kind of originality, if you want to know the truth imo. But at least MK started the whole fatalities and gore in a fighting game thing. And that was original, for a while.....

DOA, was only nice to play because of the hot girls, and that wore out rather quickly.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Lack originality? Wow talk about an ignorant ass statement right there? Have you even seriously played Virtua Fighter 4 or Soul Calibur 2? Jesus...

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Virtua Fighter 4, still king of fighters, and I believe VF5 will set new standards, as the VF series always does.

I don't think MK and polygons mix well.

Calm down. I have played Soul Caliber 2, but aside from the weapons, and the console exclusive character, I found nothing new in it from the first one...

I have not played Virtua Fighter 2, cause I believe it is for PS2, and mine is not working....

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Adam, will you be playing MK online? I'm thinking about getting it but I probably will only get it if there is someone to play online with. (I hate most of the people on live becuase they are mostly nerds with no sense of humor.)

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

Smiliey you must not have played SC2 much because there's a TON of new moves, costumes, characters, arenas, and new and orginal floor to wall fighting that rocks hard. That game is one of the few that I can clearly call a GREAT game nearing a perfect 10.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Deception Gone Gold

I haven't played it much. True. I have the import version, and at the time, my gamecube needed a new laser; so you are probably correct in your assumption....

Straight up the reason why I didn't use live much the first time around and why I cancelled my subsription yesterday after my 2 month trial was about to end. The ppl on live suck so hard it just ain't worth to pay for it IMO. If I had a group of 30 friends that were straight up and I could play one of them any time I logged on to XBL I'd be down with it but that's not the case so fuck it.
