Mario Party 6

According to ign.com, Nintendo is bundling some kind of voice regonition mciro phone with the up coming release of Mario Party 6. Reportedly, the game will boast 80 all new games, six new game boards, and of course, the mico phone itself.

The main purpose for the micro phone in Mario Party 6, one mini game sees four players battling in a 3 vs. 1 tournament. The player holding the micro phone shouts, "Launch" to fire missile against the other players.
Other than that, I see no reason for its' existence, and imo, it has been done already, in a sense, with, "hey, you, Pikachu" for the 64.

I am sure that Nintendo will make something substantial to warrant it.

Re: Mario Party 6

Probably just a gimmick, the only game I have ever played (own) that used a microphone for a REAL reason was Seaman on the DC... but it didn't work very well. I got bored and my Seaman died, although I did teach him a bunch of curse words before he died.

Yeah, I seriously enjoyed that game. And in the past, I have noticed that very few peripherals have been supported by many publishers, and have gone the way of the dodo.
For example, the snes mouse, the super scope 6, the menacer, and many more I am sure....

Even with the new Eye Toy, I have seen very few games. And Sony promised that they would have lots of games coming out for it....
Where are they?

And, while I am at it, I see very little reason for Nintendo to even have a modem for the cube, if they don't intend to fully utilize its' capabilites...

Anyway, back on topic, this does seem like a gimmick, with very little use in future games. But I am just relaying the ign article...
