Let's talk metal music!

I'm guessing most ppl on these boards don't like this kinda music, but for those of you who do let's chat.


I'll start, what's the strangest metal band you've encountered yet?



Finntroll, they are a Finnish (Finland) Metal band.


They have been around for awhile and I can easily say are the most unique band i've ever listened to. And their damn good. I don't think any of the vocals are in english, but that doesn't hurt it. What makes them different is that they mix metal and traditional folk styles, as in accordians, pan pipes, keyboards etc.

This may sound like the most strange combination but it works extremly well. Vocally it's mostly growling, but not your usual death metal growling, more like After Forever and Theatre of Tragedy where you can actually understand what's being said, ofcourse that can't be said for this band since it's not english.

heh OTYG are finnish Troll metal ... bagpipes wierd as keyboarding and flutes and a bunch of other wierd stuff .. i do not like them though hehe just to get that clear. when i listen to it i want to do the irish jig.

Mortiis used to be metal and he's a doucebag. He makes crappy "troll" metal that no one cares about. His claim to fame is he was an original member of Emperor.

Finland is putting out ALOT of incredible bands, including my fave band evar.
