can we get an update on this stuff? is it working or what?
Ya, i'm still around, the forums died for a while you know...
Ok, detailed status report:
It has now been arounda month and a half out of my five month treatment. So far it's amazing, I mean, now it's like I have "normal" teen acne, you know, where you wake up with a zit on your chin once in a while type acne.
Right now the only thing that's still around are 3 cysts on my right upper back, and that's awesome that that's all that's really left considering that my back was by far the worst area, other than those three it's just the normal average "little ones" and even those are not too bad at all. The only thing right now is my skin still looks pretty crappy from all the other stuff the accutane has stopped, for instance, my arms are covered in small scaps from zits/cysts that broke open and bled, as well as my back and chest, not too bad and it's healing rapidly. What looks the worst are all the little red/purple spots from where there was a blemish, their like tiny bruises, I guess they'll go away within a few months, but they look icky, I hope the ones that are worse than others go away totally and don't leave scars...
My face looks pretty decent, except pretty red still from the dryness, hell my cheeks are peeling and when I wake up in the morning I wipe my lips on a napkin and the dryed out dead skin just wipes off, ewwww, then I chapstick and lotion up for the morning. Most of the zits on my face are limited mainly to my upper lip and chin now, and not much. Before my face was worst on my forehead and jaw-line (although it was actually pretty horrible all over)
The most amazing thing of it all is i'm not really oily anymore at all, I can actually go 2 days without a shower again and not be a greasy freak. Earlier in my treatment when I would blow my nose there would be a little blood, I guess because it dries out inside there and the thin skin can break when you blow your nose and bleed, but now it's fine. Occasionally I have a mild headache, although like a week into it I had a killer headache. And earlier in the treatment I had some god awful back pain, now i'm fine, I guess my body just got used to the medicine finally. Jeez, when I would bend over to pick something up or sit on the floor I would barely beable to stand up straight again... Glad that's over.
Anyways, can't wait to see how much better I look when this is over, I might get another treatment period of five months even witch would be cool to fight it off that much longer!
