I think my Xbox is almost dead...

Got it on day one, so what's that.....3 years ago? Every other one of my other systems, from Genesis, to Saturn, to Dreamcast, all broke down by themselves, or with the help of me, long before the third year.
Anyways, when I was playing Fable, the game began to skip a lot. Maybe it's from playing 8 hours staight, and lets hope that's the case. I don't want to have to buy a new Xbox just for one or two more games I might buy within the year. If it does break down, it's best that I save up for one of the next gen consoles, and hope that it can play xbox games.

It's Fable as it's been doing it to me too after long periods of play, in my case it's the frame rate getting bad and then skipping a bit. If I stopping running and slowed down it seemed to do better.

Yep, that's the same problems here. It can slow down to 1 or 2 frame per second, then go full speed again.
Good news though, I thought it was just my Xbox.

Yeah it's happend to me a few times, also sometimes it auto exits me out of menus and things. Not that bad of a problem but annoying at times.
