I made a game!

I've just finished my first game, it's based on Jet Set Willy so it's a tough platformer and i've posted it here:

Yeah, i'm trying to get you to vote for it so i suck but please have a look anyhoo. It brought back a lot of memories making it and i think i got in a lot of old school cliches - there's Ghouls 'n' Ghosts in there as well as Jet Set Willy. Sort of.

15 rooms over three zones (so three re-start points) and one random final level with invisible platforms.

Ok on my first run it seemed kinda fun because of the music, but it wasn't clear which items were to be picked up and which ones were to be avoided. So I died a few times due to trying to pick up the purse, and what looks like either a plant or broken glass cup. Also making have to start back at the first room after advancing so far is a bit harsh and kills the joy of playing.

I stopped playing for this reason.

Not bad for your first game.

you pick up whatever that doesn't move ... at least for the first 3 screens then i quit hehe

First off thanks for playing the thing, i do appreciate it. As for it being tough - well, yeah, it's harder than i might otherwise have made it because of the game - Jet Set Willy - that it's based on, the toughness is a kind of homage. If you keep playing though you'll find there are re-start points further in - 5 rooms per re-start, 3 re-starts in all.

Yeah, a superheroes game is next on the list, maybe with different game styles (driving, shooting as well as platform stuff). Hopefully I can do that without it being sponsorware.
