I Made A Boat!

(For some reason it is showing up very dark, it is a lot lighter in .PSD... maybe it's just my monitor making the whole image darker.)

Software:
3Ds Max 5.1
Photoshop 7.0

The water looks cool, i like the boat as well

how much ram do u need to run 3ds max decently?...

It says 512MB minimum and 1GB recommened, but I run it with 384MB of DDR completely fine. I also run it at my work on 256MB of SDRAM fine, but the graphics card I have on my home machine is a Nvidia GeForce4 ti4400 128MB and it helps a lot. The one I have at work is a shitty ass Intel motherboard built on grahics card with 64MB of ram.

(You can run 3Ds on a very shitty machine if you turn off everything in the viewports and only deal with the bounding boxes of objecs... but that would make it a pain in the dick to work with.)

oh ok, sounds good, so the vid card plays a major role, cool, thanks a lot man

I've been using...well I used it for about a month like a year ago lol, GMAX to mess around with the flight simulator planes and quake characters...

Re: I Made A Boat!

RAM is one of the major factors when it comes to 3D applications but I would have to say that the biggest and most important factor is the processor. Them there megahertz are need for executing the complex code behind such programs. :)
