HA! Now I have a sniper rifle!
Went to my first gun show and among other things I came home with a cheap scope and scope mount for my SKS. It went on quick and the best part was no drilling or modifying was required, the mount is simply a new bolt cover you replace with the orginal. This is great cuz it's legal and no destroying a piece of history. I wouldn't put a scope on a rifle if it had to be modifyed.
The mount looks identical to this one:

Heres how it goes on the rifle:
So for the sum of 30 bucks I got a scope and mount that dropped right onto my rifle, it's a 4X28 zoom scope, fairly low powered but just right for the rifles abilities.
I now definitly know why snipers always shoot prone with bipods, it's hell to be steady, right before you fire it's best to hold your breath so you don't wiggle, hell even pulling the trigger can make you slip off target. I have everything I wanted for my rifle now:
Sling
Scope and mount
Hi-cap mag
Bi-pod
Plus it came with:
Grenade Launcher
Folding Bayonet
Grenade Sight
Flip-up phosphorus night sights
I don't think theres anything else I could do to the rifle, best of all it's totally unmodified, the Mag snaps in and out, the scope replaces the original bolt cover with out tools, the Bi-pod clips right to the barrel. In about 2 minutes I can go from a totally stock rifle to switching out for the scope, bipod and hi-cap mag and have a illegal sniper/semi-auto assault rifle.
Course i'll never use it with the hi-cap mag which is what makes it illegal, but when I shoot I use the bi-pod and now i'll have the scope to use. Another cool thing with the scope is you can still shoot using the iron sights.
