Freddy Vs. Jason 2? Freddy & Jason vs. ASH!

Source: Creature Corner

On the eve of the release of New Line's "Freddy Vs. Jason," it should come as no surprise to discover that the grinding wheels of development are already hard at work on concepts for the next film in the inevitable "Freddy & Jason" franchise.

Reliable sources have revealed that one of the current ideas being tossed around includes a scenario where Freddy and Jason would team-up against a common enemy: Bruce Campbell as Ash from the "Evil Dead" films. As crazy as it might sound, this concept has apparently been met with a great deal of enthusiasm in the upper-echelons of New Line Cinema. (Not to mention the degrees of separation: "FvsJ" producer Sean S. Cunningham directed Campbell in last years "Terminal Invasion" for the SciFi Channel.)

While it's impossible to predict what sort of "unknowns" might prevent this concept from seeing the light of day (like, say, the rights holders of the "Evil Dead" series or Campbell himself saying no) it's interesting to know that New Line is at least considering what could turn out to be many a fanboy's dream team-up "plus one" for the not-to-distant future...

...stranger things have happened. Just remember, you heard it here first.

maybe it will be a free for all ;) , still think jason woudl win that though , although ash is totally badass , he is the only 1 that is a normal human

considering jason and freddy are basicly immortal , and ash isn't i doubt ash would win

What the hell?!

I'm going to email Bruce Campbell and ask him :)

edit: here's my email to him:

Hi Mr. Bruce Campbell, I first want to say you are an awesome actor. I admire your acting abilities and that you do all these independent movies and stuff, because you don't let Hollywood fame and celebrity status get to your head. Yeah you're groovy and stuff :)

I have a question, though. Have you heard about Ash being in another Freddy vs Jason movie? I found out in this message board at this thread:

http://forums.nextgengamers.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=16036#post16036

And they found out about this here:

http://www.creature-corner.com/news3/aug11fvsj.php3

Are you really gonna be in that movie? I will respect your decision but that's kinda weird if Ash will be in a Freddy vs Jason movie.

So yeah, I'm just wondering :)

Bye Mr. Bruce Campbell!

Sincerely, Kevin J. Seo

i think me and my icy hot gangstah buddy would win

wow right when I sent that I got a response!

Howdy. Thanks for the e-mail. This response may have all the stink of those
automated, web-site generated e-mails, but rest assured, it's not. This letter
was personally composed by me in the comfort of my own home at great time and
expense.

If you believe that, I've got some ocean front property outside of Phoenix you
might be interested in...=)

Best,

Bruce

That was a VERY quick response.

That was a VERY quick response.

Like i said it's more then likely a rumor, but it pretty much seems that was a respone from bruce or , one of his agents or something of the like typed up. If it was entirely true that would rock.

Btw Hex they're not necessarily immortal, Freddy is immortal because he exsist in another plane of exsistence and everyone who has fought against jason never kept him dead. And in Jason X they spouted a bunch of crap about trying to kill him or cutting him up but they couldn't(more like another reason to make the movie but i thought i was good for what it was, a super campy comedy, not the best jason but funny) let's just say the new VS. reveals some weakness as to why no one wins.

The basic plot of Freddy Vs. Jason is that, Freddy is in Hell and get's jason to become his little minion and still send fear into the kiddies on elm street, but jason and him come at a disagreement of sorts either because of the other humans in the movie or something else. I haven't read any spoilers except the defenitive comment from the director about a very vague description of the ending.

If Ash was in it, i higly think he would win in terms of holding them off, Ash would probably find some way to contain them or maybe the Necronomicon has a spell to contain them both in another diemension neither can escape. ;) It would be an interesting movie though.

Wait is it just me or did that email response have no answer?

I don't think Bruce would likely go for that.

I'd say bring on Doug Bradley and Pinhead.

Read the last line, it's like a comical retort made by bruce stating its fake.

i thought he was refering to the obviously generated email responder , not to his question.

and i would pay to see mr.t vs hellraiser

That last line is an obvious joke, stating it's false, it could be a responder but i doubt he would have one already made up for situations when rumors fly.

It did answer the question Think Ocean.... Phoenix.... ;)

I think the movie would be a great idea. I think alot of people don't understand that Freddy Vs. Jason itself has been a really long time in the making. If you've ever seen Jason Goes to Hell, in the end you see freddy's claw come out and pull him in. Since then it's always been a hint at this movie and it was originally supposed to come out in 1998/99.

I think bruce fighting them would make sense, its almost how the Aliens Vs. Predator movie is supposed to be made but they made games for it(even though there is still a slight possibility of the movie being made).

The reason i say so is because you take the two most popular unstoppable bad guys from the same 80's style horror time period and pit them against the unstoppable Hero of 80's Horror. It seems alittle overboard for an idea but i think it would be perfect if done right but i doubt it would happen.

LMAO @ T vs. Hellraiser, i remember i found a website once when Freddy Vs. Mr.T. ;)

I'd like to see Ash meet up with Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China.

Ash: Man, they have some bad ass technology in china, you got a god damn ninja shooting electric!

Jack: Shut your mouth and let's be tough! *pose*

Ash should be Xander from buffy the vampire slayer's uncle! :D
