Ever been under the knife?

I've had 4 on my knee. 2 orthoscopic (spelling) 1 reconstructive, and one more to repair some scar tissue. My knee still makes a horrific "Popping" sound whenever I straighten my leg, but I don't think that requires any attention....just sounds gross.

I thought I might have to go to get my pinch nerve, in my back, fixed, but after a lot of working out, I managed to solve that problem on my own.

Finch, what was I hear speak of scarring? Plz do tell cuz I may have plenty myself from acne.

No, it was scarring due to surgry. I had ACL reconstrutive surgry.... which is..

The ACL is the tendon connecting your upper leg to your lower leg..it's right behind the kneecap. I tore it, and because it's an area that doesn't get a lot of bloodflow, the tendon doesn't heal itself very well. What they do is, cut part of the tendon right below the kneecap, with some bone on each end....drill a hole in the upper and lower leg, cut out the ripped ACL, and replace it with the new one. Two screws are used to keep it in place. (My sister had the same surgery, but one of her screws became loose and the doc had to take it out. Damn things are massive.)

Anyways, over time, as the new ACL begins to take shape, sometimes, parts of it starts to buldge outwards, (like the crotch area in my jogging pants, which is the scaring.) They go back in there and clean it up and cut away any debris.

Ice Knight, I'm not sure, but what you have might require skin graphs, if it's really serious....

Re: Ever been under the knife?

Finch, it's not that damn serious! I'd definitly say skin grafts are not a needed thing lol, it's not like my skin was burnt off back there. I think it will heal up pretty good, every day I see less and less marks, hell my lower back is almosttotally back to normal now, but damn my upper back and upper chest are still really red and scabby etc. My upper arms were nearly as bad but the pills have really cleared them up fast. Some day after this is all over and i'm healed it may just be a thing where I go get a "chemical peel" or dermabrasion or something...

One time I color my hair and I didn't completely wash it out...

I got chemical burn on the back of my neck. Boy, did that hurt like a mutha.

Ice....do they still have to take blood every month from ya. When Iwas on Acutane, every damn month...I had a big ass needle stuck in me for 10 min!!!!

Do you just have breakouts on your back and chest..or is there some on your face too?

You will get some scarring Ice...but not to bad.

Ya, for me I was covered pretty much from the waist up, except for my lower chest. My face was the first to go crazy and has pretty much stopped so it's not to bad at all now, just red and peeling off from the medicine. :D

My upper back was getting eaten up though, but the pills have worked wonders back there, and everywhere. As far as actual acne goes I really don't have much at all now damn it to hell all the little red marks the left behind, and the pills drying me the hell out.

Sorta off-topic:

About 3 nights ago I had a big piece of dead skin on my lower lip peeling off, and since I usually "help" the bits of peeling skin off my lower lip I gave this one a tug and holy shit it wasn't ready, my god it started bleedin good... Glad it was just before I went to bed so I didn't have to walk around with toilet paper stuck on my lip....

And yes I have to go get blood samples checked every month, I go again on the 30th. The only place the pills havn't really helped are my arms, but just in the past 2 days I have noticed a huge difference, their gettin better rapidly!

I hope after this treatment ends it all doesn't start coming back, for alot of people it does but it's usually nothin near as bad as they had it before, and if needed they do a second 5 month course.

Re: Ever been under the knife?

Major Surgery twice....Had my appendix removed and a cyst the size of a small nerf football removed from my belly, at the same time. Then a year later, my belly got cut open again (from belly button to sternum) because the first surgery didnt heal properly. "Adhesions", I believe they called it.
