Do they not make the wizard of oz in widescreen on dvd?

We just got it and I was wondering why I could only find pan & scan, any one know whats up? Even after searching the net I dont see a WS version. Could it be cuz its so old it wasn't filmed in WS or something? Maybe the original WS print was lost or something?

They probably plan on releasing it all late, have you checked www.dvdfile.com and searched to see if there was a widescreen version?

Well the wierd thing is: On the back of the case where it says something like:


"Widescreen: this film is presented in a anamorphic transfer preserving the original theatrical release"

And for fullscreen it would say: "fullscreen: This film has been modified. It has been adjusted to fit your TV."



But the dvd we got says: "fullscreen: this film is presented 1/33/1 aspect ratio transfer preserving the original theatrical release"



That leads me to believe it's only in FS.? ?? ?
