I love Boobies!
Classic RPG's that never got out of JPN
Don't you hate it when great games don't get ported?
I HATE it with a passion. The fucking Japanese get everthing special and cool first and sometimes their the ONLY ones who get it! I think that's why I like http://www.workingdesigns.com so much. Because they always seem to bring over awesome older games that never got brought to this side of the Pacific! Currently they are working on Growlanser 1 & 2! It'll be a double pack for the PS2. These are 2 games that came out for the PSX in Japan but never got brought over to the U.S. They're strategy RPGs (my fav. kind) and supposedly rock the kazbaar.
Sadly though alot of even older games that came out for 16 bit systems probably will never be brought over. That's why the Fan translation community rocks! They translate the scripts, in game menu's, etc. and then hack the JPN game roms so that when you play the game on an emulator it's as if it was always in english! I get alot of my friends wanting me to make copies of my DreamSnes disc (SNES emu for Dreamcast) because I've got a ton of Japanese only RPG's patched.
Anyways I found this cool site http://www.fantasyanime.com/ that has info/awesome pages on a ton of Classic RPG's and various sections, forums, wallpapers, and section focusing on Japanese RPG's with screenshots, info, and translation status: http://www.fantasyanime.com/garden/translations.htm
Also check out the Whirlpool for upto date translation status' http://donut.parodius.com/
