Buffy The Vampire Slayer-(NEWBIE SILENCER)

Ok, the point of this thread is to let people who don't know anything about the television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and it's spinoff Angel(The Series). I'm doing this mainly for the fact that i see people with so many mis-conceptions or sometimes i end up getting people into the show and they have a million and one different questions. Also to inform some people who have some retarded opinions about it. So let's get Started.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer(The Movie, 1992)
94m.jpg

Ok, it all started with Joss Whedon Writing this as an original one part movie. When hollywood accepted his idea and decided to make it, alot of it was changed for the simple fact that hollywood does that to some thing's to either make it more acceptable or profitable. The thing is they changed it into a Sci-Fi/Comedy with little serious back drop and alot of people forgot about it and looked at it as this horrible comedy movie. THAT was NOT Joss Whedon's original Intention. A Few years down the road, The WB Channel offered him to write and direct a series based on the movie. He immediately decided to go along with it since he knew he would have total control of the story and such. Quick Note: The original buffy in the movie was played by Kirsty Swanson, and there was no possible way after all those years she could pull off being a high school student. Buffy is now obviously played by Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer(The Television Series, 1997)

*pictured above is Season 1 on DVD*(i have it obviously)
So, now Joss Whedon has the field he need's to create the show. With no one to stop him creating a new show the way he entirely envisions it. The show picks up after the end of the movie, With the only character's returning being Buffy and her mom. The Show aired as a mid-season replacement on "The WB" who at the time wasn't exactly the most award winning tv station. And was still just starting off.

(IMPORTANT)F.A.Q:
Common Mis-Conceptions, And Ignorant Opinions of the show:

Q=Question A=Answer
------------------------
Q: So Buffy is just some hot chick who magically learned how to do martial arts, she is small and fragile, how the hell can she fight vampire's and demon's who are obviously more powerfull?

A: This is the Main thing to the show which people don't understand since they have never watched it.

The Chosen One, The Vampire Slayer
---------: Every generation, one girl in the world at random is chosen to be the vampire slayer by the "powers that be"(think of it more like mystic legend, or god picking them unwillingly). At the age of 16 this one girl is granted super strength and reflexes, think of it like the hulk, but not breaking down an entire building with a single flick. And Reflexes sorta like spider-man. So basically, any person with average strength or even body-builders wouldn't be comparable, even though the girl doesn't look super buff.(think sorta like spider-man again.) It's also known they have a keen sense for sensing vampires them selves.

Once a slayer dies, be it natural causes, killed by a vampire or demon or another way. The "powers that be" choose another girl at random. Some girls show potential, possibly good fighting skills or more strength then what there body should show. And Are Trained by "The Watchers Council", There job is to obviously train them martial arts and be the guide and knoweledge base(they always have high knoweledge on the bad guys). There also obviously like a teacher who tell's you what's right and wrong. The Watchers Council has headquartes over in England, all of the underground stuff like demons, vampire's, witch's and warlock's. And all the super-natural stuff is kept secret from the public. The Watcher's council has a library of knoweledge on all of these thing's and they are paid to be the watcher of any vampire slayer or "potential" ones.

-----------------------------------------
Q: Isn't this a kid's show?

A: I'm Sorry i didn't know kid's shows were allowed to deal with such serious issues such as rape, the occult, lesbians and other highly unwatchable things to the young. Anyone who says this has probably seen a total of 3 minutes of the show or is just plain ignorant to it.
------------------------------------------

Q: So all they fight are Vampire's? Doesn't that get old and stupid?

A: The show doesn't ONLY have vampires, vampires are one of the main and most vibrantly populated enemies on the show. BUT, everything from werewolves, ghost's, demon's from hell walking the earth, vampires(duh), Witch's and Warlocks: Magick does exsist in the show but not every one know's how to do it. Other Dimensions including one's from hell. And More. There is alot more but i have to limit my text per-post. ;)

A Quick F.A.Q On Vampires on Buffy

The Rules to Killing a Vampire:

First off:
When a vampire dies, it turns to dust and is physically gone from this world. This was put into the show because you can't have a bunch of dead bodies lying around.

Ways to kill regular one's:
1.)A wooden stake to the heart
2.) By Chopping there head off with a sword or anything else that works.
3.)Fire harms them more then it usually does to human's but isn't overly effective.

Pro's To Being a Vampire:
Your Immortal and you do not age or die ever by natural causes, you can still be killed by the way's listed above. Otherwise you would just live forever.

You have super strength, the slayer is minorly stronger then them. But they both are entirely stronger then human's.

Your immunue to disease.

You don't need to breathe, your dead remember.

Con's To Being a Vampire:

Sunlight burn's you and if you stand in it long enough it kills you. Which forces you go only outside during the night.

Holy water burns you.

To be able to go into ANYONE's house, they need to verbally invite you in. Otherwise your unable to enter. An example is on the show, one tryed to run in and you see them shot back out as if a invisible being hit them.

Holy Crosses burn, and can be used to keep you away. Usually sometimes people hold them up and it's almost like flashing light in there eye. But i'm sure most people get what i am saying.

You need to feed on blood to stay alive, blood is there food which forces them to hunt human's. Any blood will do. But human's are like the best food to them.

The Slayer is after you.

When you are turned into a vampire your human body dies and you, your actual soul leaves the body while a demon who has all your past knoweledge is the one who now inherit's it. A Vampire is essentially a demon/human hybrid. So it's not you.

Funny Fact's:

Your Reflection doesn't show up in the mirror.

IMPORTANT FACT ABOUT THE VAMPIRES ON BUFFY:

Normally vampires, look like regular human's. When they feed, get extremely angered or hurt badly their face morph's.

Below is Spike(William The Bloody) A Vampire, was once a main nemesis to buffy but is now a good guy.

Regular(when not angered):

Angry/Pissed Off:

That concludes this section.

Next i will give bio's on the character's of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". THEN, i will give info on the spinoff and this thread will be complete be patient ;)

The Main Cast, Who Have Always Been On The Show(with pictures):
i will give their character's name followed by the actor's name

The Vampire Slayer:
Buffy Anne Summers(Sarah Michelle Gellar)
4buffy50.jpg

Buffy Summers was born in January 1981 to Hank and Joyce Summers, making her twenty now. As a child, she went through a phase during which she idolized ice-skater Dorothy Hamill, and was close friends with her cousin Celia until she died. Buffy started her high school career at Hemery High in Los Angeles, where she was a popular cheerleader; in 1996 she was elected Prom Princess and Fiesta Queen. That same year, Buffy was contacted by a man named Merrick, who told her that she was the Chosen One, the Vampire Slayer. Though Buffy was skeptical, it was true; Merrick was her Watcher. But Merrick was killed, and in Buffy's attempts at slaying, she managed to burn down her high school gym. Around that time, Joyce and Hank finalized their divorce, and Buffy moved with Joyce to 1630 Revello Drive in Sunnydale. She enrolled at Sunnydale High School, where the school librarian, Giles, informed her that he was her new Watcher. Though reluctant, Buffy was sucked full force into the life of a Slayer. Buffy became friends with Willow Rosenberg, Xander Harris, and to some extent, Cordelia Chase; and later with Willow's boyfriend Oz, all of whom knew that she was the Slayer (her mother finally found out at the end of Season 2) and often helped in her endeavors. Buffy developed a relationship with Angel, a vampire cursed with a soul; it ended when he lost his soul, turning him back into his evil vampiric self, but they got back together after his soul was restored again. Ultimately, Angel eventually realized that as Buffy got older, their relationship would be doomed, as he could never give her anything resembling a normal life. Thus, he left her, for her own good. During her freshman year at UC Sunnydale, Buffy roomed with Willow and developed a relationship with Riley Finn. After about a year together, Riley left Buffy and Sunnydale, feeling that Buffy didn't need nor love him. During her sophomore year at college, Buffy survived several family crises — first she discovered that her 14 year-old sister (introduced in Season 5) isn't actually her sister, but is a mystical "Key" just recently turned into human form and placed into Buffy's life (false memories included) so that Buffy could protect her. Then her mother had a brain tumor removed, only to later die from an aneurysm arising as a side effect from her surgery. Buffy dropped out of college to take care of Dawn. In the final fight against Glory, a hellgod seeking to use the Key, Buffy sacrificed her life to save Dawn's and the world. A few months later (Season 6), Willow brought Buffy back from the dead using dark magicks. Unfortunately, Buffy had been at peace in a heaven-like place, and being ripped out and plunked back onto earth was extremely hard on her, to say the least. In an effort to feel something, anything, she secretly took up a sexual (and violent) relationship with Spike, who had fallen in love with her during Season 5. Spike didn't accept the eventual breakup very well and at one point ended up attempting to rape Buffy. A trio of nerds (Warren, Andrew, and high school acquaintance Jonathan) who fancied themselves as villains, made themselves a nuisance to Buffy and the gang, culminating in Warren shooting and severely injuring Buffy. The same attack also accidentally left Tara dead, driving Willow over the edge. Buffy was no match for Willow's immense magical powers, and when Willow set out to destroy the world, it was Xander that got through to her and saved them all. Buffy has recently been hired at the new Sunnydale High School as a part-time counselor for troubled students.

The character who splits off from the show to star in his own spinoff series with two other people from this show, it's still in california but they are in L.A. But it's a good drive from the imaginary area of sunnydale(meaning it's not a real town).

Angel(David Boreanaz)
3angel04.jpg

Angel the human was born in 1727 with the name Liam. Angel the vampire was "born" in 1753, making him 246 or 247 in vamp years (these are the dates given on Angel's tombstone in flashbacks of the Angel episode "The Prodigal"). Angel was a bit of a rogue, and a drinker as well. He was, in fact, out drinking one night when he encountered Darla, who turned him into a vampire. In 1860, he met Drusilla, killed her family, drove her mad, and then turned her into a vampire. In 1898, he killed the daughter of a Romany (Gypsy) tribe, and the tribe cursed him by restoring his soul; from then on he suffered with guilt over the acts he had committed as a vampire. He ended up in New York city in the 1990s, where a "good" demon, Whistler, found him, took him to LA, and showed him a girl: Buffy. Angel decided to help the Slayer, eventually growing close to her and becoming a useful ally to the Scooby Gang. Buffy and Angel fell in love, and when they made love on Buffy's seventeenth birthday, Angel lost his soul again. It turned out the curse was to be removed if Angel ever experienced a moment of true happiness. Angelus (his vampiric name) wreaked havoc on Buffy and the gang, until Willow succeeded with the spell that would give him his soul back — too late; Angel had awakened Acathla, who would suck the world into hell. To prevent it, Buffy had to send Angel to hell. A few months later Angel was returned to earth, though not through his own efforts. He and Buffy eventually got back together, but Angel eventually realized that she could not live life to her full potential with him (only going out at night, not being able to have children, etc.). So, for Buffy's own sake, Angel broke up with her and left town. He now lives in Los Angeles, helping the helpless and fighting demons with the help of Cordelia and Wesley.

Another main Cast member of buffy:

The Witch:
Willow Rosenberg(Alyson Hannigan)
willow86.jpg

Willow Rosenberg was born to Ira and Sheila Rosenberg; she is the only Jewish member of the Scooby Gang. She doesn't appear to have the most superb family life; her parents are out of touch with Willow's life, and her mother once tried to burn her at the stake. Willow has been friends with Xander since childhood (when they were five, they "dated" briefly until Xander stole her Barbie doll), and she quickly became best friends with Buffy when she came to town. Willow is extremely intelligent, a whiz on computers, and an excellent student who is known for her tutoring abilities. She has helped Buffy and Giles numerous times by hacking into various records and databases, and she even taught Jenny Calendar's computer class after Jenny was killed by Angelus. Willow long had "more than friends" feelings toward Xander, and after years of ignoring her, Xander finally seemed to return those feelings — while the two were both dating other people. When Oz and Cordelia found out about their indiscretion, they ended it, and Willow and Oz were able to save their relationship, unlike Xander and Cordelia. Willow will probably always have a soft spot for Xander, as demonstrated by her crying jag when she found out that Xander had slept with Faith. Nonetheless Willow later lost her own virginity to Oz. Willow had a hard time when Oz left Sunnydale, but found love with fellow Wiccan Tara, who in the end she chose over Oz. Willow got increasingly powerful and skilled with magic throughout Season 5, and she was able to hurt and immobilize Glory and restore Tara's sanity (Glory had fed off Tara's mind). In Season 6, Willow continued to further her use of magic, and she and Tara argued about whether Willow overusing it. After Tara found out that Willow had done a spell to make Tara forget their fight, the couple broke up. This, combined with an accident she caused while on a magic high, nearly killing Dawn, provided the catalyst for her giving up magic entirely. A few months later, they got back together, but very shortly thereafter, Tara was tragically shot and killed by Warren. This enraged the powerful witch, and she used dark magicks to make herself extremely powerful, even absorbing the power of the visiting Giles. She killed Warren, then, overwhelmed, decided to end the world. After fighting off Buffy, it was Xander who got through to Willow. Willow went to England for the summer with Giles, who, along with a coven of witches, trained her so that she could control and use properly the magic within her.

Another Main Cast Member:

The Regular Guy/Comedian:
Xander, short for Alexander(Nicholas Brendon)
xander71.jpg

Alexander LaVelle Harris was born and raised in Sunnydale, and has been friends with Willow since childhood (they used to sleep over at each other's houses regularly). Jesse was Xander's other best friend, until he was turned into a vampire and inadvertently staked by Xander. As with most of the characters, little is known about Xander's family, except that his mom can't cook, there could be alcoholism in the family (he sleeps outside on Christmas Eve to avoid his family's drunken fights), and Cordelia has implied that his father is unemployed. Despite his problems (or perhaps because of them), Xander consistently maintains his sense of humor, making wise-crack after wise-crack (much in the vein of Chandler on "Friends"). Xander was not an exceptional student, but he's always been ready and willing to help Buffy in her endeavors. His track record in the romance department has been less than optimal — he was turned down by Buffy, fell for a praying mantis and an Incan mummy girl, had a one night stand with bad-girl Faith (only to be kicked out afterwards and assaulted by her shortly after), and went to the prom with an ex-demon (Anya). When he settled into something vaguely resembling a relationship with Cordelia, he messed that up by kissing Willow ... and getting caught. Xander did manage to graduate high school (despite some fan speculation that he might not), although didn't go to college with the gang, instead successfully working in construction, where he is now making pretty good money. He and Anya became a couple after high school, and eventually got engaged in Season 5. Unfortunately, Xander wasn't ready to get married, due in large part to a fear of becoming like his dad, and he called it off on the day of the wedding, breaking Anya's heart. After Tara's death, Willow went berserk, and now endowed with immense magical powers, attempted to destroy the world. Although Buffy was no match for her, Xander managed to get through to Willow by reminding her of their close friendship over the years. Xander thus saved the world.

Another Main Cast Member:

Rupert Giles(Anthony Stewart Head)
giles24.jpg

Rupert Giles was born in England into a family of Watchers (those who train and guide Slayers) — both his father and grandmother were Watchers. The young Giles was disappointed to find out that he was destined to be a Watcher; he had wanted to be a fighter pilot or a grocer. He attended Oxford University, but attempted to reject his destiny and instead rebelled and dabbled in the occult with his friends (who called him "Ripper"), at one point summoning the demon Eyghon to Earth. Giles eventually straightened out and gave in to his destiny, working as a museum curator in England until the Watcher's Council assigned him to Buffy in Sunnydale. Giles, while also working as the Sunnydale High librarian, developed a close father-daughter-like relationship with Buffy, despite the fact that she is an untraditional, somewhat incorrigible Slayer. Giles doesn't seem to have many friends, though he dated computer science teacher Jenny Calendar (until she was killed by Angelus), had a one night stand with Joyce while both were under the influence of poisoned candy (rendering them like teenagers), and a few passing liaisons with a British woman named Olivia. Giles is well-read and intelligent, can play the guitar, fence, and read five languages — and, if necessary, he can hold his own in a fight. Giles has always been straight-laced and stereotypically British, but he has loosened up a bit since he was fired from his post as Watcher (after interfering with the Council's rite of passage test for Buffy). After the gang graduated from high school, Giles was unemployed for a while, except for guitar performances at the Espresso Pump, but he eventually took over a magic shop, The Magic Box, after the previous owner was killed by Harmony's vampire gang, and turned it into a successful business. Buffy also managed to bully the Watcher's Council into rehiring him as her official watcher, complete with retroactive pay. After Buffy's death at the end of Season 5, Giles moved back to England. He returned to Sunnydale when she was resurrected, but later felt that it was best for Buffy if he left, so that she could learnt to be more independent. He did visit at the end of Season 6, in order to help the gang stop Willow, who had gone a bit mad after Tara's death and was trying to end the world. After this incident, Willow went to stay with him for a few months, to learn how to control the magic now within her. Giles now remains in England.

One of the original main cast members, who move to the spinoff angel:

Cordelia Chase(Charisma Carpenter)
cordy03.jpg

Cordelia Chase, born and raised in Sunnydale, is a classic snob. She's a popular cheerleader, extremely self-centered, and always speaks her mind ("Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass."). When Buffy first came to Sunnydale, Cordelia tried to befriend her, since anyone from Los Angeles must be cool. But after Buffy mistakenly attacked her with a stake, and then began hanging out with "losers" Willow and Xander, Cordelia decided to shun her instead. It was a mutual dislike, but eventually Cordelia needed Buffy's help (when an invisible girl was terrorizing her), and soon after, Cordelia found out that Buffy was the Slayer. She found herself hanging out with the Scooby Gang more and more (though the insults were still exchanged regularly), and eventually she found herself in a relationship (of sorts) with Xander. When her "cool" friends found out and alienated her, she broke up with him, but then changed her mind, deciding she'd date whoever she wanted, "no matter how lame" they were. However, Xander and Willow found themselves kissing one day, and had a bit of trouble trying not to do it again — until Cordelia and Oz caught them. Cordelia and Xander never got back together, but they did recently seem to call a bit of an unofficial truce. She later developed a crush on the new Watcher, Wesley, but upon kissing, they realized they had no chemistry. It was revealed toward the end of the third season that Cordelia's family, who've always had money, are now broke; her father made some "mistakes" on his taxes — twelve years in a row. Cordelia moved to Los Angeles to become an actress, but ended up working with Angel and Wesley to help the helpless. Their dead colleague Doyle gave her his talent for receiving visions of people in trouble, and experiencing all the suffering in LA has had a marked effect on her previously vapid personality.

Another Main Character:

Spike "Willam The Bloody"(James Marsters)
spike06.jpg

Spike, also known as William the Bloody, got his nickname due to his penchant for torturing victims with railroad spikes. However, his William the Bloody nickname has less glamorous origins — it turns out that he had the name before his vampire days, as a result of his "bloody awful poetry." William wasn't always a bad boy — prior to being vamped, he was a shy, sensitive, aspiring poet. After getting shot down by the girl who inspired his poetry, he was killed and then sired by Drusilla. Drusilla, of course, was the love of his un-life, until she left him — twice: first for a Chaos demon and then for a Fungus demon. Only 120 years old (using the most recent evidence, "Fool For Love"), Spike has already killed two Slayers. He tried multiple times to kill Buffy, but to no avail (but then again, she didn't kill him either). After being gone for all but one episode of season three ("Lovers Walk"), Spike became a regular in season four, and didn't have better luck in Sunnydale the second time around — thanks to the Initiative, he got a chip implanted in his head which renders him unable to kill or hurt anything other than another demon (which he does, leaving him unpopular in the demon world). Much to his chagrin, he then developed a major crush on the Slayer herself. This crush led him to reject both Drusilla and Harmony in favor of the non-reciprocating Buffy, and to have a Buffy sex-robot built to allow him to fulfill his kinky fantasies. Unfortunately for Spike, the real Buffy discovered the robot and took it from him. The combination of the chip and his love for Buffy seemed to have a positive effect on Spike, who became a helpful ally to the Scooby Gang. During Season 6, after Buffy came back from the dead emotionally screwed up, she began a secretive sexual (and violent) relationship with Spike. After she ended it, he tried to initiate sex with her again, and ended up attempting to rape her. Horrified, he went to Africa to get his soul back, which now appears to be driving him somewhat insane.

Semi-minor(but-important) character who has starred in both show's:

Faith(Eliza Dushku)
faith07.jpg

Faith is the other Slayer, called after Kendra was killed by Drusilla. She, like many characters, is a bit of a mystery. What we do know is that she is one troubled girl. Her Watcher (a woman) was killed by a vampire named Kakistos, and Faith witnessed it — then ran away, bringing her plenty of guilt. She's from Boston, and her mother is apparently dead (and was an alcoholic when she was alive). Faith enjoys slaying more than Buffy does (it makes her "hungry and horny"), and she is quite sure that being a Slayer makes her better than everybody else, as well as immune to laws and rules. After Faith accidentally killed the Deputy Mayor, she went to the Mayor himself, offering her services, and they developed a close (if somewhat odd) relationship. She was then officially a rogue Slayer. When Angel pretended to have been turned back into Angelus, Faith was eager to team up with him and torture Buffy, and her jealousy of Buffy became painfully obvious. Later, Faith shot Angel with a poison arrow, for which the cure turned out to be the blood of a Slayer. Buffy intended to feed Faith to Angel, but ended up putting her in a coma instead. Faith remained in a coma until February, 2000 — when she woke up and went seeking revenge against Buffy. Her method of choice was to switch bodies with Buffy via a gift left to her by the deceased Mayor. The experience was difficult for Faith, as she seemed to realize how unhappy she was with herself. She headed to Los Angeles and was hired by Wolfram and Heart to kill Angel, but instead she tried to get Angel to kill her. He wouldn't, and took her under his care until she turned herself in to the Police Department (she was wanted for crimes presumably including assault and murder). She is currently incarcerated in an LA prison.

Newer character:

The Annoying Little Sister who ins't exactly real(and some fan's despise her):
Dawn Summers(Michelle Trachtenberg)
dawn63.jpg

Dawn Summers, 16, is The Key, and Buffy's sister. After protecting The Key for centuries, the monks of the order of Dagon were forced to hide it from Glory, a hellgod, by turning it into a human girl. They placed Dawn with the Slayer, disguised as a younger sister, and implanted memories in everyone in Buffy and Dawn's lives that made it seem as if Dawn had always been a part of Buffy's family. It is unclear how the implanted memories are activated or if people outside of the Summers' lives know about Dawn. The insane and those "outside of reality," such as clairvoyants, are able to see that she is not real, and Buffy was able to identify her as part of a spell by going into a deep trance. Joyce seemed to recognize that Dawn was not truly her daughter at certain moments when she was being affected by her brain tumor. Dawn was initially unaware of her true nature, but learnt the truth, much to her distress, when she broke into the Magic Box and read Giles' diary. Glory's aim in this world was to find the Key — it turned out the Key could break down all the dimensional barriers, and Glory intended to use Dawn in a ritual to get back to her own dimension. This ritual would result in Dawn's death, and the unleashing of countless demon dimensions on earth. Buffy wasn't able to stop Glory from starting the ritual, but by sacrificing her own life she was able to stop it in time to save Dawn and the world. Luckily for Dawn, Willow was able to bring Buffy back from the dead. Still, Dawn's life wasn't easy for her (being not quite real, having such a strange life, and with her sister being detached and distant after her resurrection), and she developed a thieving habit as a cry for attention. This was eventually discovered, and Buffy has since improved her relationship with Dawn, who is now attending high school at the newly rebuilt Sunnydale High School.

The last of the buffy character's to go to the spinoff Angel:

Wesley Wyndham-Pryce(Alexis Denisof)

wesley05.jpg

Wesley Wyndham-Pryce was sent to Sunnydale as the replacement Watcher when Giles was fired. He had little control over Buffy and lost Faith completely to The Mayor's team. His Watcher's technique is somewhat bumbling; his capturing of Faith was marred slightly by her escape, and Buffy quit the Council while under his control. Quite often he had little to contribute to the gang (his specialty being whimpering when wounded and screaming like a woman) but his intentions were always honorable. He enjoyed a brief flirtation with Cordelia but there were no sparks when they eventually kissed. After defeating the Mayor-Snake, he was fired from the Watcher's Council and took up as a "Rogue Demon Hunter", swapping his Watcher's suits for Biker's leather. He eventually found himself in LA with Angel and Cordelia, where his sincerity, enthusiasm to help and considerable research skills won him a place at Angel Investigations where he helps fight the good fight. His past is fuzzy; he appears to have had a domineering father who locked him under the stairs for hours on end and it would appear that Wesley is trying to make him proud of who he has become… with little success, even though he eventually became the boss of Angel investigations.

Another Main Cast Member:

The Vengeance Demon:
Anya(Emma Caulfield)
anya44.jpg

Anya was, about 1120 years ago, a girl — a girl who'd been dumped and was practicing vengeance spells on men (boils on the penis and other fun stuff). The demon D'Hoffryn got wind of her, and made her a vengeance demon. She carried out her duties for over a thousand years, known as Anyanka, the patron saint of scorned women. She found women who'd been hurt by a man, used a special necklace (her power center) to grant their wishes. Usually, the wishes involved vengeance on the man who'd betrayed them. Anyanka came to Sunnydale to grant a wish for Cordelia after Xander had cheated on her with Willow, but instead of wishing something bad on Xander, Cordelia wished that Buffy Summers had never come to Sunnydale. Anyanka granted the wish, resulting in an alternate reality. Unfortunately for Anyanka, Giles smashed her necklace, bringing Sunnydale back to its normal reality, and leaving Anya stuck in the mortal body of a teenager. D'Hoffryn refused to give her her powers back, and her attempt to use Willow to help her get her necklace back backfired, so Anya continued attending Sunnydale High School. She developed a crush on Xander, and the two became a (highly sexually active) couple, eventually getting engaged. Unfortunately, Xander wasn't ready to get married, due in large part to a fear of becoming like his dad, and he called it off on the day of the wedding. A heartbroken Anya then slept with Spike, which Xander saw due to a hidden camera planted in the Magic Box (where Anya worked) by Warren, Jonathan, and Andrew. D'Hoffryn offered Anya her powers back, and she accepted, becoming a vengeance demon again, though her heart isn't in it.

This is the only former cast member i will list, some other have died(NOT IN REAL LIFE, ON THE SHOW'S STORYLINE) but he in my opinion is a little more important and helps people have more of a understanding to the show. Any other character can be discussed but are more minor to the show. I think you get the Idea now.

A quick note on the actor: he left the show because he felt his character wasn't that important and was too quiet. I'm sure he feels stupid now for not staying because his career hasn't exactly been springing. His feelings are mixed but sometimes i think he is just bitter he didn't choose to stay with the show.

Oz "Daniel Osborne"(Seth Green)
oz25.jpg

Oz is a bit of a mystery — we didn't even find out his real name until "The Initiative" (it's Daniel Osborne). He's a quiet, not-too-expressive kind of guy, though he's not lacking a sense of humor. He is extremely intelligent, though not very motivated — he failed his senior year and ended up graduating with the Buffy gang (he should have graduated the year before them). Oz is the former guitarist for the band Dingoes Ate My Baby, and even though Oz doesn't have a very high opinion of the band's talent, they did get a lot of gigs, both in and out of Sunnydale. During Oz's (first) senior year, he was bitten by his cousin Jordy, who, it turned out, was a werewolf. This was right after Oz and Willow had begun dating, but Willow didn't mind and was willing to continue dating him, noting that a few days out of the month, she's not much fun to be around either. The two developed an intense relationship, though the werewolf issue isn't turning out to be as harmless as Willow thought. The two hit a bump in the road when Oz found himself attracted to a female werewolf and gave in to that attraction. Reeling from his realization that the werewolf is part of him all the time (not just three days of the month), he left Willow and Sunnydale to go figure things out. A few months later he returned, thinking that he had the wolf under control. Unfortunately, it turned out that Willow had the potential to make him lose control. That, combined with the fact that Willow was in love with Tara, led to Oz leaving town again. The two parted amicably, though sadly.

So What Is Angel(The Series)??????????????
B00005JLEW.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Angel is the spinoff to buffy, meaning the same guy who writes buffy also works on this show. It's in the same universe so all the same types of bad guy's are on the show like demon's and all that good stuff. When the show first started it had cross-over story's with buffy. For example Buffy going on his show or angel coming back for a breif time. And some other people like faith, have been on his show. I'm sure you get the idea. Essentially the character's could go and visit him right now but this leads me to the next thing.

TECHNICAL NOTES:
At the end of the 3rd Season: Angel, Cordelia, and Wesely went to L.A. They never intended to meet up with each other but ended up meeting each other and that is where the storyline for this show begin's while buffy went into it's 4th season. There are more main character's to this show itself which i won't list.

Why was buffy on The Wb and now on UPN?
When the show ended it's 5th Season, the way they ended looked to alot of people like it was the final episode. But it was open for even more storyline obviously. The real problem was The WB wouldn't give the people who work on the show more money and the show's contract and money was up for negotiations. After the the money ordeal it was obvious the wb didn't wanna keep the show even though it was one of there original show's people gave a damn about and actually watched. The WB has admitted they feel stupid and that they love the show. UPN picked the show up because their proggramming isn't exactly marvelous and they know people would watch buffy. The problem with both show's being on different networks is the fact that there are legal issues with two different network's doing cross-overs.(though there was alot in the past)

THE FUTURE OF BOTH SHOWS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF MORE SPIN-OFF's!!!!!!
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is currently in it's 7th Season, which is a very long time for any show to even stay on. Most show's end around the 3rd or second season. But most show's do not make it this far. Currently Sarah Michelle Gellar and Emma Caulfield are the only one's who haven't signed on for another season of the show. It was already said that this would probably be the last season of the show, along with Angel's last season probably being 4.

So what's in store? It has already been anounced that "The Ripper" a show starring Giles, buffy's watcher will air in the UK. It is not known if it will air in america, but there is a possibility that BBC America(a channel which show's bbc stuff obviously) could bring it to satellite or digital cable.

The other known thing, though a rumor is that the rest of the character's could star in a seperate show depending on the outcome of the final season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. There isn't a name but there is a possibility and no one but the writer's know what is going to happen at the end of this season.

I hardly think Oz "Daniel Osborne"(Seth Green) is bitter since he's raking in the dough from the Austin Powers movies, especially now since he'll be the main villan and Mike Myers wants to keep making the Austin Powers movies.
