Brute Force, anyone?

Hey check out my brute force review: Read It Here!(click here)

Here is a caption from my review
In early 2002, shortly after the Xbox was first released, no game could dare challenge Halo. It was the king of the hill, top dog, big cheese. That was, until Brute Force was announced. It was a complete package - an Xbox exclusive, Microsoft published game which boasted a totally original method of gameplay. A squad of four mercenaries, each with their own unique talents and abilities, combined to form the ultimate, elite killing machine. The player would be able to directly control any one of these characters at any time, as well as give orders to the others.

Maybe we can put this up on the front page? If Akuma agrees and you don't mind that is. :D

It's still a work in progress. . . I'm gonna add stuff to it, so wait to post it in the reviews section. :)

EDIT: 6/17/03

I added an intro and expanded on lives, difficulty levels, scores, and gameplay length. If you want anything else just let me know.

Glad you liked the game. For me, besides Unreal, this was the fastest return I've made. (Got MidtownMadness 3 and a new communicator.)

It's too damn repetitive. Same enemies, same missions, same levels, same graphics....same blasting everything until it's dead. Each character has their own abilites, but it's done very poorly. Having 4 characters, for me at least, just means four extra lives just in case my main character gets killed.

Things I like.....the graphics are amazing, although running at 30 fps, I don't expect anything less. Good CGI...with some nice animations.

Personally, the game gets a 7/10 for me. Too many delays, too much hype....too repetitive.

And yes, I did play the game...for 6 hours straight, then about 3 more hours later in the night. I was hoping that more play time would reveal anything new, but nothing.

See I guess that's where we're different. I have really enjoyed Unreal for a long time... even without Live. I kinda like getting a "quick fix" of action. Playing a couple rounds on Unreal is perfect. Brute Force is fairly repetitive, but I feel that it's action carries it past it's repetitiveness. It's really fun for me. Maybe I'm just shallow, but a good firefight on a bit of elevated terrain and some big guns is just about as good as it gets. Brute Force does that well.

So how's MM3?

MM3, so far...lets just say, I need to rent games before I buy them.

WTF, what's up with all these 30fps games lately? Xbox has more power than this. I can't stand the way these 30fps games look, and control. It's twitchy, and choppy.

I'm not sure why people don't mention this, but the game has rubber band AI in the single player mode. If I knew this before hand, I wouldn't have even considered buying it, hell. I wouldn't have even rented it.

You would think having a garbage truck, or firetruck would be awsome, but it's not. They move slow as shit, making them useless.

Voice actiing is downright annoying. Load times are long....and there aren't as many jumps as there was in Wreckless.

Online is alright, although, all I did was smash into things.

Damn, three bad game choices in a row. Lucky for me I picked up a used copy of PGR.

Edit....Yes, I have a right to bitch and complain. Games in Canada cost at least $69.

Is anyone here going to play it online(MM3)? if not i might as well not get it, and spend it on something esle...

I just said I would, thats the only way I will even play a game more then a few times. I don't even bother with single player offline games anymore becuase they will just collect dust.

I have mgp2 still, i maxed out my bike and have only played a few games. Can't return it though.

I Dunno everyone i can play with plays when i can't.

Well I haven't played in a while becuase of the pain in the ass issue of unhooking everything and hooking it up to the Xbox then when I'm done playing having to hook it back up to the PC again. But now that problem is solved... me and Catp00p have gone wireless!

Oh cool, you're wireless now?

On-topic: i had interest in brute force being one of the games that you would play with friends kind of like hunter with more depth but it doesn't seem like that as much now.

BTW, the review is now on the front page.

Well, co-op mode is extremely easy to get into and it makes the game more fun...

I personally don't think the game is too repetitive. There are plenty of different enemies, weapons, and environments. The only thing that gets a little old is the mission objectives, which are pretty much the same most of the time.

As for actual depth... Brute Force is pretty much "run into the area, have a firefight, kill the bad guys (or get killed), and move on to the next area. So yes, it's not that deep. But that's not to say it's not fun.
