Anyone play Mafia?

I played a about 20% of the game on my PC last year, I didn't want to get too far into it becuase I had planned on picking it up for my Xbox a little later that year... well MUCH MUCH later (as usual) it's now out for the Xbox. I'm having my wife pick it up at Block Buster Video so I can give it a whirl on the Xbox. What do you all think about it?

Never played it, but I did like GTA, so give us your impressions, later. (I'd like to rent it, but want to know how the Xbox version holds up)

The game is great! Way better story line then GTA and it is a lot more realistic then GTA as well. The only thing some people might not like about it is the speed of the cars at first... the ones you begin with are a little slow... but it takes place in the 1940's so your a moron if you think your going to go fast as hell in those cars. As you progress you get better cars that are a lot faster. It has three modes, Story, Racing, and Free Ride. You do racing and story mode to unlock things for free ride. DO NOT TRY FREE RIDE FIRST! You won't have anything and probably be turned off by the game... start with story mode and then do some racing before you jump into free ride or you won't like it becuase you will be stuck with the default cars.

I recomend this to anyone who is a GTA fan and likes Mobster movies...


(I might be buying this one, it seems to have a lot of replay value)
