Anyone gonna get top spin?

I will. I love Virtua Tennis and the fact that so many reviews say this is even better with loads of features, great graphics & gameplay, and full online play via XBL. You know I'm looking forward to it.

isnt that like a sports games? tennis game as a matter of fact? no thanks, the only sport games I play are the ones featuring mario bros and the gant (mario tennis, golf, etc. :P)

actually i might check it out since I liked virtua tennis...;)

LMFAO! Doesn't like sports games but he WILL play Mario based sports games!

That's like saying you'd rather play lil baby games instead of the real shit. What a lil bitch!

Nigga please! Mario Kart takes a ton of skill? As much skill as it takes to master Moto GP 1&2? I highly doubt it, and no I never got "owned" at Mario Kart. I've played all the Mario sports games and they're simplistic easy fun but nothing to pound your chest over. Good gameplay no doubt but about as intense as the Mickey Mouse sports games on yer lil brother's Tiger hand held electronicrap. Bring that smack when you've grown past "JV ball" :bam:

Adult games take skill and complexity and mix you up a nice brew, mario games (aka t3h kiddyz) just offer a lil bit o' skill thus it's warm milk & cookies for children. Mario sports games appeal to the casual gamers and old fuddies who were never hardcore and thus yearn for when games didn't require losts of knowhow to get the most out of them.
So i.e. Mario sports games pander to the lil kaids and the senile old farts who never could catch on when gaming GREW UP!

I'm a gamer who recognized that the gaming industry matured and those not willing to grow along side with it are either going to have to cling on to companies like Nintendo, or bitch and moan about simplistic games because while easy to get into had so much "skill to master" when in reality those games where only hard because of hardware limitations aka no 3-d/lack of freedom.
I'd rather have games, especially sports games, that require me to think, learn, read and react instead of put unnecessary obstacles that serve no purpose than "we couldn't do it any other way/it makes the game challenging" i.e. artificial barriers.

Mario golf, tennis, and god forbid if there ever is a mario football and basketball, are just watered down versions of the sports games they are imitating with Mario characters thrown in for nostalgia and name recognition. Sure they 'll be fun for a while and will require some skill to master but ultimately they can't hold a candle to the real sports games they pathetically parrot.

*passes Sonic a clean diaper so he can change himself after laying that last turd*
:p :bam:

I get you're point I just think Mario sports games are watered down versions of what's on the market, they are intended to be that way so anyone can play them and have fun without much knowhow. Now while that appeals to the casual gamer, kids and moms and dads it doesn't appeal much at all to me. Sure games like Tetris are timeless and I can still plunk down a game or two while plopping away but Tetris does not make me go buckwilde and ignore my studies like modern games do.

Really this has strayed from my original point that choosing mario sports games over sim sports games is childish because you're turning away a more precise and complex game for something that requires lil skill to have fun in it. Maybe that's what some people want but to me that's a joke. BTW tell me which game has sold more SC2 or SSBM? hmmm.... :p

Back to the topic then, Top Spin is gonna rock hard and at the same time have easy pick and play gameplay that Virtua Tennis had thus endearing those who yearn for complexity in their sports games and those that yearn for ease of use. So really those that look down on the game purely because it's a sim are really missing out on a great game, just like those who've missed out on Virtua Tennis. I'd bring that game to parties and ppl would go "a Tennis game?! WTF!" and yet when they'd actually play it they'd recognize just how fun, intuitive and addicting Virtua Tennis was and still is. So bring on Top Spin, which is getting great reviews/previews as VT's successor, and more games like it. I'll gladly plunk down 50 bones and enjoy it on XBL!
