EDIT-Oh nevermind man I know about it now, wow that is so awesome. What a great find you got there!

That panasonic Q is so sweet... I'am sure if you shop around you can get it for less then $400.

Overpriced???? Hell the fact that it plays vcd's pays for it self. And Region free on the games and dvds is a big advantage for imports, especially for people who are eager to get stuff early.

Well my dads 50 dollar dvd player can play vcds.......
As I see it you can buy a japanese gamecube and a cheap dvd player and you are saving around 200 bucks....
But dont let me tell you what to do... Im just saying that for that much money it isnt worth it to me. Now for 300 you may have a deal.... lol

Let's see standard un-modded gamecube is 149.99$ USD.

A DECENT non-el-cheapo dvd player is around 150.99$ USD, depending on brand AND what all it plays.

so your rounding those two things off too $300, The Mod job is around $50 or even more depending on who you pay to do it and if your willing to take a chance and void warrantys and the possibility of breaking your gamecube if your un-knoweledgeable in that field. And There is the Hybrid factor, factoring that last $50. Watch a DVD on a ps2/xbox then on a NICE dvd player and you will notice the difference if your into that kind of thing. The Panasonic ins't a run of the mill p.o.s player that they put in ps2 and xbox.

Edit: And the dvd player is also region free, which makes it even more worth it if you like the cube.

God, sonic you dont have to get all violent at me lol. You wanted thoughts, and you got them. You DO NOT have to spend 150 dollars for a decent name brand dvd player that can play anything you can put in it such as vcd's etc. You will spend alot if you want a progressive scan player though....
You need spend no more than 100 bucks to get a toshiba or comparable brand that plays all the recordable discs and vcd's, and for 50 you can get a off-brand player with the same disc playing capabilities..... Buy whatever you want though...... the 400 one is pretty swank!
